November has been an incredible month at Platform55, packed with events, milestones, and "pinch us"?moments as we continue driving equality and sustainability in our workplaces.
Summit Success: Building Equal and Sustainable Workplaces
On November 7th we hosted the 2024 Platform55 Summit in the Odeon Point Square. Our ambition was to gather the HR & DEI Community for an insightful and fast-paced event and to keep driving gender equality by creating a space to challenge thinking and focus on tangible actions. And we did it!
180 HR professionals joined us in the room, with 50 joining online. Feedback from the event has been outstanding, with many attendees declaring it ‘The best HR event I’ve ever been to’. Our keynote speaker, Elliott Rae , said on LinkedIn afterward:

We shared our latest research of over 500+ parents, carers, and people leaders; our Keynote Speaker Elliott Rae discussed the role men play in driving equality; we delved into the 'people behind the policies'; and looked at the role HR play in ESG, and finally Dr Lollie Mancey introduced us to future workplace trends.

A Win for all Families at Work
Just days after the Summit, Co-founders Michelle and Tracy took to the stage to pitch live in front of a Dragon's Den-style format at 'The Pitch'. Platform55 and 11 other Irish entrepreneurs went head-to-head, with just seven minutes to pitch our business to five expert judges – all for a game-changing prize worth €100,000 that was organised by IMAGE Media and powered by 三星电子 .

To our utter delight (and surprise) we won this incredible competition and joined former winners – Jennifer Rock AKA The Skin Nerd and the founders of Gym + Coffee on the winners' list. The kit from Samsung, the advertising package from Image Media, and mentoring from entrepreneur Bobby Kerr is going to transform our business.
Thanks to everyone who got in touch with their good wishes, and as several people remarked "this is a win for all parents and carers at work". To see our innovative efforts to drive DEI and to change how we support today's family at work, recognized in an environment like this speaks volumes. Change is coming.
Celebrating Fatherhood on International Men’s Day
This month, we also marked International Men’s Day with an engaging event exploring fatherhood and career. Our discussions focused on the role men play in equality and our panel of Dads shared how they balance their career alongside family life. We discussed 'parenting out loud' and how being a good role model, at work and home, is important to break some of the gendered stereotyped roles we often have around caring.
