Why the next 60 Days are crucial to achieving your full F2025 financial goals.


As I write this, we are in week 3 of month 4 of the financial year here Down Under.

This week I have already experienced professional services firms postponing business development projects until 2025 due to the close proximity of the holiday season.

Realistically they will reconvene in February (after Australia Day which is still 100+ days away) for an internal meeting which will lead to external meetings with clients, prospects and referrers alike in March.

New instructions will arrive in April and may be invoiced in May.

If financially prudent, they may get paid in June. And so reap the benefit of their BD projects for just one month of the full F2025 financial year.

If you wish to give yourself the best possible chance of achieving this year's financial goals, you need to create your pipeline in the next 60 days.

What action will you take today?

As an old CEO of mine used to say, winners make it happen, losers let it happen.

Smart sentiment Alistair Marshall - it is time to take action before the calendar year is out, and a key part of our job is to show how this can be implementation lite. In my experience the thought of the 'project' is often outsized, and great things can be achieved in half-the time!

Absolutely on the money Alistair Marshall, it never ceases to amaze me the number of times I see firms, not only postponing a critical decision, but postponing even starting the discussion - because it's "too close" to holidays or some other annual event. There's always going to be something happening, and as you neatly pointed out, waiting for something to be over quickly wipes out half the year!
