Have you ever typed your business name into Google, only to be met with silence? Your business isn’t showing up, and you’re left wondering what on earth went wrong. Don't worry, you're not alone, and there's a way to fix it!
I’m here to help you reclaim your Google Business profile so you don’t waste time, money, or sanity growing your business. Let’s dive into the reasons your business might be MIA on Google Search and how to bring it back!
Your Business Isn’t Verified
One of the most common reasons your business isn’t showing up on Google is that it hasn't been verified. Google requires verification to ensure your business is legitimate. If you began the setup process but didn’t finish, or if Google decided to reverify your business, this step could be the culprit.
How to Verify Your Business
1. Go to google.com/business and click "Manage now."
2. Choose the business you want to manage.
3. On the Home tab, find and click "Verify now."
4. Select a verification method. Note: Methods are automatically determined and can’t be changed.
Once verified, it could take a few weeks for your business information to update across Google.
Your Business Doesn’t Comply with Google's Guidelines
Another major pitfall is not complying with Google’s guidelines. Violations could lead to your business being suspended. Google has a detailed list of guidelines that must be followed to avoid issues.
What to Do If Your Business Is Suspended
1. Check your email or Google account for a suspension notification.

2. Review and correct any guideline violations.
3. Follow the reactivation steps provided in the notification.
Your Business Information Was Recently Updated
Sometimes, updating your business info can temporarily affect how it appears in search results. Google’s algorithms need time (up to three days) to process changes.
How to Handle Recent Updates
- Be patient and wait for the changes to reflect.
- Keep your business information accurate and comprehensive to improve search ranking.
