Why mum is helping us for our 1st ever Waterfront Market tour.

Our first-ever tour of the indoor Waterfront Market is happening at 10:30am on Saturday 17th June, co-led by my sister, Farida Ahmed , and my mum, Nafeesa Ahmed .?

We'll be touring the veg and fish markets, getting tips on how to select produce like mums do, and then getting our freshly purchased seafood cooked to order right at the market (veggie options available too). I don't want to hype this tour up as being epic. How would I know, we've never done it before.

Except we sort of have—all through our school years. Farida and I would go to the Karama market in the 90s with mum and watch as she interrogated the fishmonger or the vegetable guy. God forbid he sold her a melon that wasn't sweet.

Granted, the markets we used to visit with mum are worlds apart from the Waterfront Market, less sterile and lots more character—

but the nostalgia fades pretty quick when you get free underground parking and clean restrooms.

Parking at the Waterfront Market is always free. Get some extra totes to shop and if you have kids lying around, grab them too. 1 kid free for every paid adult on the tour.?
