Why MSPs should add new LinkedIn connections every single weekday

Why MSPs should add new LinkedIn connections every single weekday

I made a big decision with my MSP Marketing Edge product development team this week.

We've launched an exciting new project to help our members reach more decision makers on LinkedIn and better influence them.

Details are super secret for now... I'll unveil all in a few months' time.

But... why my obsession with LinkedIn?

Because it’s THE most powerful social network for MSPs. Every prospect you could ever want is there and you can easily reach them.

Do you know what kind of business you’d most like to work with? Start by looking for them on LinkedIn. You want to connect with the decision makers and influencers.

There are a few ways to do this. You could make a list of business names and run a LinkedIn search.?

Or you could decide on several verticals you like and search for, say, “lawyers Your Town”, “accountants Your Town”, etc.

You can also repeat this search on Google, adding the word “LinkedIn” of course.

For a shortcut, find someone in your town who is already connected to the people you want to reach. Connect to them, and then connect to their connections.

(There’s a setting in LinkedIn that hides your connections to stop someone doing this to you.) ??

Every weekday, you’ll attempt to connect to 10 new people. Yes, you may need a paid LinkedIn subscription to do this. Maybe 2 of them will accept your connection request.

Doesn’t sound a lot until you look at the figures:

2 connections a day

x 5 days

x 50 weeks

= 500+ new connections a year… every year

?

The power of a marketing system strikes again. This is why you want to turn this activity into a daily task.

It’s 10 mins of work every day, which is nothing. But over a year it compounds, and all those tiny actions turn into something impressive.

Thoughts on requests that linger in pending status for months? Delete and try later? Appear to be asking some profiles that never get checked :-/

The power of LinkedIn in the MSP space is super untapped! Many have built the foundation in person, and LinkedIn won't replace that but help amplify those opportunities!

Love this, Paul Green. For most people, LinkedIn allows you to send around 100 new connection requests per week. Imagine the compounding from that many connections! It is indeed a numbers game. I recommend making a list in Sales Navigator and systematically connecting to as many as LI will let you. Then, generating authentic conversations (not selling in the DMs!).
