Why are most webinars B-O-R-I-N-G?

Why are most webinars B-O-R-I-N-G?

We explored with several participants the reasons for boredom in webinars and these were some of common responses.

1.  No interaction on the content, among the participants, or between the participants and the facilitator.

2.  The participants respond to questions, but these questions are unrelated to the training objectives.

3.  The facilitator merely reads the slides displayed on the screen.

4.  Technical glitches disrupt the session.

5.  The content of the session is boring.

6.  The participants are already familiar with the content presented in the session.

7.  The participants suffer from physical discomfort from sitting still too long.

8.  Facilitator is using only the poll and chat as an option for engaging with the participants.

9.  Activities have no connection to the learning outcomes of the training.

Ask yourself the following two questions:

  • Have you experienced any of the above while attending / conducting webinars?
  • What could you as a facilitator do to remove or reduce the reasons for boring webinars?

To get your answers learn the virtual engagement approaches and online learning activities for a greater impact, interaction and engagement of your webinars do join us for the upcoming 7th batch of Go LIVE virtual session starting from 20th July 2020.
