This week's topic:

Why Most Leadership Training Programs Doesn’t Resonate with Engineers

Why did you originally want to move into a leadership role?

Did you assume leadership was the next natural progression in your career?

Were you bored with being an individual contributor, and wanting something more?

Was it your desire to spend more time mentoring people, and bringing out the best in them?

Perhaps you were motivated by your passion for process improvement and creating efficiencies?

Or maybe it was something else?

Everyone’s reason is a little different, but they all have one thing in common…

You wanted to contribute at a higher level

But now that you’re in the role, you feel like you’re not creating the impact you originally imagined…

Somewhere along the way, you started realizing that leading people requires an entirely different skill set - relative to the skills that made you a top performing engineer, and got you promoted into a leadership role - so you turn to traditional leadership books and courses.

But those resources weren’t the answer you were looking for - and here’s why…

Traditional leadership training methods don’t resonate for logical brains!

First - the majority of these programs assume that you’re naturally outgoing and people-oriented - when in reality, most engineers tend to be introverted and process-oriented.

From your perspective, these programs are mostly filled with unrealistic theoretical fluff that sounds good on paper - but you can never find any practical ways to apply these abstract concepts in the real world.

You went in with an open mind, but after not seeing any tangible benefits from your time investment - you eventually gave up and reverted back to doing things the same way you’ve always done them.

Does this sound familiar?

I was in the exact same situation earlier in my career…

I struggled to motivate my team to take ownership of their work and want to improve their performance - instead of waiting for me to tell them what to do.

I could never figure out how to sell my ideas to my boss or upper management in a way that gained buy-in and support - and it felt impossible to create impactful change throughout the organization.

Whenever something fell behind or failed, I was the one who ended up putting in the extra hours to pick up the slack.? I didn’t mind the hard work, but I was running in circles forever, without making any real progress on anything.

Once I realized this was preventing me from growing in my role and advancing to the next level, I did what any engineer would do…

I took a look at what wasn’t working, and figured out how to solve the problem.

Instead of fighting my analytical brain, I embraced it - by creating a scientific approach to leadership, with logic-based frameworks that you can adapt and apply to all types of people in any situation!

And I teach you exactly how to make this system work for you in the Leadership Accelerator for Engineers - here’s how it works…

You begin by gaining heightened levels of self-awareness, confidence, and self-control - so that you’re intentionally strategic, logical, and in-control whenever you’re dealing with people - versus letting your emotions and reactions drive the bus.?

You build onto this foundation with in-depth knowledge of human behavior, motivation, and psychology - because when you understand how people work and operate as a collective system, you can quickly empathize, connect, and build meaningful relationships with any individual person.

Then you become a 360 degree communicator, by learning how to adapt your communication style to resonate with the other person - as well as disarm their emotions and personal biases - so that you can deliver your message in a way that resonates with them.

But here’s the most important part that ties everything together for you…

This program expands your mind to a new way of thinking, by unlocking the creative and emotional areas of your brain…

This is the missing link for logical brains, because it empowers you to create clear connections between what you want - and what the other person wants - which is the key to inspiring, motivating, and influencing people’s actions and decisions to work in your favor!

As an engineer, you need to understand how the system works, before you can utilize and leverage it to your advantage - and the Leadership Accelerator for Engineers teaches you exactly how to do this!

I'm curious, would you equate being in a leadership role = bigger contribution? ??

I ?? agree with this! I’ve taken so many corporate leadership courses and they never stick because you aren’t taught “the why”, which is what I need to understand to really embrace the tactics.
