As 2024 unfolds with its myriad of possibilities, I'm reminded of a crucial lesson: many leaders, despite their achievements, find themselves revisiting the same pains and challenges year after year. Why is that? Often, it's because they haven't mastered the art of intentionally scripting their future, a skill I wish I had learned at 17, instead of shedding tears over love or uni doubts.

This year, I'm embracing a playful yet impactful ritual – writing a letter to my future self, set for January 8th, 2025. My journey into the power of scripting began when I found myself in the dark, holding back due to fear and uncertainty about the future. For years, I allowed others to steer my story, leaving me feeling unfulfilled and unhappy. I placed my dreams on a shelf, waiting for the elusive 'right moment.' But we all know there's no perfect time; it's what we make of every opportunity. The past is now firmly in the rearview mirror!

So, let me share a simple scripting model with you.

The 5-step Scripting Model for 2024

Step 1: Grab a piece of paper and your favorite pen

Begin by physically engaging in the process. In the next steps I ask you to wtrite down your thoughts, dreams, and intentions. As you do this, feel your dreams in your bones. Believe from it.

Step 2: Reflect and Release

Take a moment to reflect on any fears, doubts, or limitations that may have held you back in the past. Acknowledge them and release their grip on your mindset. It's time to let go of what no longer serves you.

What are you willing no longer to tolerate?

Step 3: Visualise Your Success

Close your eyes and immerse yourself in the vision of your ideal future in 2024. Feel the emotions of success, achievement, and fulfillment. Visualise every detail, from the smallest triumphs to the grandest milestones. Capture all details in the letter to your future self.

Step 4: Gratitude is Your Fuel

Remember to express gratitude for the people who have supported and continue to support you on your journey. They are your cheerleaders and allies. Recognise their importance and let this gratitude fuel your motivation. Include these people in your letter.

Who do you want to be your teacher, trainers, mentor and trusted advisor?

Step 5: Create Your Vision Board: Assemble a vision board that visually represents your goals and aspirations for 2024. Include images, words, and symbols that resonate with your dreams. Place this vision board where you can see it daily, and allow it to inspire and guide you.
