Why Moore’s law makes financial freedom a NEED for you in the next 5 years

It is an empirical fact that the number of transistors on a single computer chip doubles every two years, which decreases the cost of technological change at an exponential pace.

This awe-inspiring reality made things like AI and ChatGPT possible, which I can only perceive as miraculous, likely due to my limited understanding of science and technology. But as an optimist, I am thrilled for humanity.

Technology is getting better, humans who choose to collaborate with technology are getting better, and talent/information/education is in abundance.?

There are 16 year olds making more from eCommerce in a single year than some neurosurgeons have made in their entire career due to the power of technology.

However, this is an impending threat to those who do not see the rate of learning, genius influx and change required to be a competitive employee in this Middle East.

Not only are there already layoffs due to technological advancements, the only reason that there aren't more layoffs is due to operational drag. That is, your boss / your team at work hasn’t figured out how to implement new technology yet to make the business more efficient.

It’s not true that there’s a real threat to every line of work. My point here is the nature of work is about to exponentially change. Even if you love your work the way it is right now, you will likely not be able to recognize your work in the next 5 years… and you want to give yourself some options in the case that change is inconvenient, inauthentic or unpleasant.

You’re better off overestimating how Moore’s law will change your life in the next couple of decades. Rather than assuming nothing changes and not seeing financial freedom, which would give you options, as an urgent need. If you’re someone who:

  • Cares about your mood, stress-levels, quality of life and the opportunity to be present with family and friends?
  • Wants to enjoy money, convenience, and comfort, eg you’re not the kind of person who wants to be overthinking paying for a personal trainer or ordering Talabat?
  • You want to be financially set no matter what, without worrying about your wife contributing to the bills. You want to be able to handle all responsibilities in all situations.???

Then achieving financial freedom by making sure you are receiving cash flow that covers all of your bills protects you from being negatively impacted by any technological advancement, industry or career shift.?

If something happens to your salary and you haven’t achieved financial freedom, you're burning through everything you’ve built, including existing acquired assets like portfolios or property.

  • Your life isn’t likely going to get cheaper, no matter how hard you budget.?
  • University tuition isn't going to tank. Your kids won’t suddenly budget their lifestyle and discontinue their aspirations/schooling.
  • You may not want to immediately liquidate your assets and move back home, but you will slowly be burning through what you’ve built at less than profitable times.

And yet, everywhere you go, you will be lured or directly told to:

  • Buy property to boost your net worth by taking out a mortgage that increases your salary dependence and stress levels (not as scalable as you think)
  • Rush into a rental income portfolio because that’s the only instrument you can get both net worth appreciation and cash flow (not true, to be clear)?
  • Build your own investment portfolio on IBKR/Sarwa/eToro to avoid exorbitant financial advisor fees. The people who teach you the DIY strategies are also selling coaching programs that you will need instead. (This isn’t wrong and I’m not against coaching, but DIY takes decades)

All of these approaches will stroke your ego… And you’ll continue to procrastinate your freedom.?

Anywhere you go, you will be programmed to prioritize what other people want.?

If you’re on autopilot, you will build your financial life as a house of cards rather than a castle with a moat of security.

Financial freedom is an urgent matter, unless you want to spend the rest of your life worrying about bills, how you’ll stay in the UAE without your job, or how you’ll take care of kids.

If you know you are meant for a life beyond these dangers, there’s a better, faster, cheaper way.

I ask you for 5 years of focus, momentum and commitment.

One process: build a cash-flowing portfolio to cover all your basic bills.

One vision: a life where you wake up and do what you want, not what other people want of you.

One goal: freedom. With maximum speed, maximum ease, and 40-60% cheaper than comparable options.

This isn’t long term wealth building.?

It’s an era of extraordinary accomplishment.
