Why Modi is our Mitra indeed

He wishes our good

I think the most important characteristic required in a politician is intent. If one is experienced but does not have intention of collective good, the experience is more dangerous. Now that Modi has gained national experience also, his intent can be more effective.

He dares to do our good

Politicians always fear taking tough decisions. Their myopic vision is constrained to their reign so that they can come back to power. Whereas, Modi has dared to take bold steps towards structural changes (like GST, bankruptcy law) which will bear fruits in years to come.

He wants us to be techno savvy

Back during those days I hated when I had to go to the bank to deposit cheques and get passbook completed. And now today, it's been almost 2 years that I've not seen my bank. All thanks to digitization. I won't comment whether demonitisation was a hit or blunder in cleansing the black money but I would give government the credit of making people learn about digital banking. Now I have my bank in my phone.

He wants us to live cleanly

From hopping over garbage piles on road and controlling my odor senses while going to school to gulping fresh air now, my native place has changed. Thanks to Swachh Bharat initiative, municipal wards of localities and cities across India compete against each other to win the cleanest ward/ city award. Also, if you wish to go on for a long drive, new highways are waiting for you. I can myself feel the pace of construction of new roads which has doubled in last 4 years.

He wants us to be healthy and popular

The government and the PM most importantly has a different connect with common people. I don't remember PM with which you could connect so much specially if you're a youth. But sometimes you would actually feel him as your Mitra who gives you work-out challenges, motivates you to keep surrounding clean and at the same time get attention my uploading those videos on social media. He's kept youth busy for constructive purposes.

Not only youths, he also keeps government officers busy. They need to be on their toes now lest they should lose their jobs.

His actions are real

I have always seen politician's achievements only on papers. But this time, the reforms are real. India is now sixth largest economy, India's credit rating is improving, India is jumping ranks in ease of doing business, the fiscal deficit is under control at around 3.5%, people have started paying taxes, they are availing benefit of home loan subsidy and government looks serious on its health protection scheme.

He's our only friend in need

I get nightmares when I ask myself if not Modi then who? I don't see anyone else in opposition with such charisma to lead India to new highs.
