Why the Modern Day Corporate Leader does not have to be Alpha Female/ Male

It is an accepted fact that the contemporary Corporate Leader need not be a Mr/Ms. Know it all who never fails.

Actually, ?brought up on the cocktail of great warrior kings of yore who are described as being best at everything, we grew up believing that the leaders in the Corporate world have to be likewise.

However empirical evidence, research and the acceptance of importance of “Emotional Intelligence” towards leadership excellence have long proven the notion otherwise

Then why do we need to discuss the issue now?

There still seems to be an overwhelming desire amongst Corporate movers and shakers running the rat race to be recognized as “Alpha” in the Corporate World!

REMEMBER YOUR SUCCESS QUOTIENT AS A LEADER? IS NOT GOVERNED BY BEING THE BEST IN EVERYTHING YOU DO:-

·?????? Turning the Balance Sheet around

·?????? Being? the Leader of choice of all employees

·?????? Super Caring for Society and Environment

·?????? Best Family Man ( Parent/ Spouse/ Child, etc.)

·?????? Best Social Reformer

·?????? Best Influencer

·?????? Best Innovator..

…The list can be endless

No one could attain this. Not even the Father of our great nation, whom the whole world revers but his own son reviled. The Leader who was instrumental in securing ?independence for a Nation of 40 crore people could not gain the love of his own son.

Most of us in the Corporate world attend a lot of leadership workshops , read a lot of leadership literature and watch leadership behaviours at work.

Out of the countless Gigabytes that are fed to and scanned by our intellect, we tend to retain only one or two megabytes – pearls of wisdom.

I remember one such rare pearl of wisdom which was told to us during a session by a Leader of a large Corporate…” All Leaders do often fail and true leaders are those who are open and bold to acknowledge about their own failure”.

Yes, it takes courage to be vulnerable because it can be frightening to expose yourself to judgment, rejection, and the unknown. However, being vulnerable can also be an act of strength and confidence, and can lead to authentic living and meaningful connections. Its imperative for Gen Alpha, Z, Y, X or whosoever, at whatever stage in their lives to be honest about their failures and not to spend their lives securing themselves – financially, emotionally, etc. etc. Life was perhaps never meant to be led that way… we were born to either traverse new paths or paint some big n bold canvases or ?love someone unconditionally without purpose or ?create unique value and purpose for society ?and while we try to so lead our lives, shall we gain the admiration and adulation of the people around us ?that’s coveted by most of us! That would be our acknowledgement as? a True Leader.
