Why Mediate?
In life, when emotions are high, it can become increasingly difficult to sort out issues objectively. This is why mediation exists. An impartial third party essentially facilitates a dispute between the parties concerned with a view to resolving conflict or identifying the issues in dispute.
Reasons why you should consider mediation:
1. It's Voluntary – It is your choice to commit to the mediation process and are free to terminate the mediation agreement should you elect to do so;
2. It's Confidential - The mediators never disclose any information revealed during the mediation unless they obtain your consent to do so. The sessions are not recorded or transcribed unless requested or agreed to by the parties. The admissions/proposal and concessions will only be binding once it is agreed to in writing by the parties involved;
3. It's Quick and Inexpensive - Mediation normally takes less time to complete than litigation, allowing all persons involved to limit legal fees and to get on with their lives;
4. There is a greater degree of control - All parties have an equal say in the process. The end game is that all parties reach a mutually agreeable resolution to their conflict;
5. Relationships are saved - Where all parties’ interests are considered, preservation of working relationships is possible. Where termination of a working relationship is on the cards, mediation can bring about an amicable ending;
6. Future Problem-Solving has a solution - For future disputes which could arise, there now is a place to resolve amicably.
