Why Me?
The first post that was featured on my LinkedIn feed this morning was one that any parent can sympathize with. The pastor of my church has said, "There is no pain like 'kid pain'. I wholeheartedly agree. The most amazing thing about this post was how it ended. Here are the words spoken directly in the face of the circumstances around the horrible disease of cancer, and the 'kid pain' mentioned.
Be grateful. Give thanks. Work to make this world better and your own lives better. God sent his son to save us. I have a bone to pick with God about these kids going to early, but that is my burden to unwind. And I have faith in him each and every day.
It's hard to have an "Attitude of Gratitude" and to "Give Thanks," for all of us, especially when we are handed an uncertainty where it seems like no light can shine to overtake the darkness.
This quote may be comforting to some. It is found in Billy Graham's book HOPE for Each Day: Words of WISDOM & FAITH. My hope is these words will offer comfort to those who are facing what seems like an insurmountable level of pain:
Therefore I live for today- / Certain of finding at sunrise / Guidance and strength for the way. Power for each moment of weakness, Hope for each moment of pain, Comfort for every sorrow, Sunshine and joy after rain! -- Anonymous
1.) Faith In Every Day
Faith is believing in what we cannot see. Where can you find or revisit a situation where you have or once had "faith" in?
2.) Joy In Every Hour
Find something today that brings you joy! The anonymous quote above us we can have "joy after rain." Maybe our anonymous poet was a farmer; who knows? If it seems hard to find joy today, remember something from the past that gave you a sense of joy or do something--small is enough--for another that you know will bring them joy.

3.) Love Every Minute
Someone needs you today to extend love to them today. The first person that comes to mind is likely the person that needs it the most.
4.) Hope for Each Second
If you can't immediately find something in your heart to have hope for today, ask someone else about something they "hope for" or are "hoping for." Believe me, that person will feel different. I'd be surprised if you don't absolutely make their day. They will feel "seen" in a different way, and you will be the reason that they will find a stronger hope in their answer.
