#cristianoronaldo has accused his club Manchester United of having a lack of #empathy when his baby girl was sick. This is a huge claim and one that needs to be broken down for all involved.
Let's begin by saying that Ronaldo is a great footballer. ?
How great?
Although a true legend of the game #pele scored over 1,000 goals in football even his official scoring record was surpassed by Ronaldo in recent times. Upon that happening Pele noted that Ronaldo was on “a beautiful journey” and that he admired him a lot and loves watching him play. ?
Pele played in the 1958 world cup at only 17 years of age and became the youngest scorer in the competition before dominating for over a decade at the top of the beautiful game so his words are important to be aware of when we think of Ronaldo. And although Ronaldo has dominated football for the past couple of decades many would say no one has been in the same bracket as him with the exception of his nemesis Leo Messi.
#messi has won more Ballon d’Ors (best player awards) than him but Ronaldo has had more nominations for the prestigious award. Still, Messi has admitted that Ronaldo is a phenomenal player!
And although Ronaldo has complained about United in recent times he has also come out to say that their coach and senior executives have betrayed him and that he didn’t feel welcome at the club either this or last year also.
Of course, though there is usually no smoke without fire when top players say such harsh words against a club.
And with Manchester United, there has been a red fire lit for some time.

In recent years club has come under a lot of criticism for how it has been run by former United defender Gary Neville who said the club was experiencing an "annihilation” only a couple of months back and former player Patrick Evra referred to the club as being arrogant back 2020.
So it seems there are challenges at the club with or without this great player Ronaldo.
But does it matter how good a player is or how great a team was?
Surely both these two things are only opposing indicators of how great the club could be if the playing performance and the best possible leadership were employed by all involved including players like Ronaldo, the coaches, and the executives?
There is one thing that all have in common. They are putting their male egos to the forefront and not thinking about the over 1 billion reported fans worldwide. That’s nearly 15% of the world’s population. These are the people from diverse places such as Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, the Asia Pacific, and particularly in China. Given that there are so many issues coming from many of these parts of the globe including war, social unrest, governmental rule, and discrimination, among other things surely it's time for those that are bickering to accept that they need to be better role models for all who follow them.
And let's not even started with the controversy of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the human rights issues that have come up about the hosting of this great completion in this specific location.
For to be at the top in teamwork it’s about acknowledging that there are differences and challenges to each individual’s experiences and viewpoint but that by coming together they will surely maximize their chances of being what they state they are which is truly United.

2 年Great article Dr. Conor Hogan Ph.D. I see it time and time again, the team with a bunch of superstars rarely win...its the team that puts winning absolutely first is most successful. A guy that exemplified that to a T was our superstar Derek Jeter, different sport but TEAM was always first with him!

2 年Nice article Dr. Conor Hogan Ph.D. It show's how egos can be a dangerous thing. When walking into a team setting it's best to check the ego at the door. Within a team or any relationship/partnership there must be give and take. This gets lost with egos. The fans are the real losers. They watch this infighting take place as they deal with their own deeper problems.
