Why MAGA doesn’t sound as good as MEGA

Why MAGA doesn’t sound as good as MEGA

Make Europe great again

For years, the United States has positioned itself as the dominant economic and political force in the Western world. But as the country drifts further into oligarchy and isolationism, its global influence is waning.

The once-unshakable transatlantic ties between the U.S. and Europe are beginning to fracture, and for the first time in decades, Europe is faced with a clear reality: It must stand on its own.

This shift presents both a challenge and an opportunity. For much of the past decade, Europe has been deeply dependent on the U.S.—economically, militarily, and even culturally. But as America increasingly prioritizes its own internal struggles and distances itself from global responsibilities, Europe has no choice but to become more self-sufficient.

This means greater economic integration, increased regional investment, and a renewed focus on European innovation and production. By redirecting economic focus, investing in its own industries, and—dare we say it—making Europe great again.

The rise of MEGA: Let's Make Europe Great Again

If “MAGA” (Make America Great Again) has been the rallying cry of Trump’s America-first nationalism, about bringing America back to some nostalgic past.

Then “MEGA” (Make Europe Great Again) should be its European counterpart—'Alright then, we’ve got this.'

MEGA isn’t necessarily a movement—it’s more of a signal. A signal that Europe will start playing by its own rules. Although it should be more of a constructive and forward-thinking vision instead of just a hollow show of a pumped bicep.

MEGA isn’t about shutting the world out, or regressing into past glory; it should be about strengthening European collaboration and reclaiming economic and political independence.

Getting used to standing on own feet again

We have been depending and focussing on the US so heavily, that now learning to stand and depend more on our own feet, it will take some getting used to at first. But since our former brother has been bullying and wrestling with other nations for so long, Europe will still be seen as the former ally of the US. It won't be easy to create new bridges within Europe, let alone with other nations outside of Europe.

On a more serious not, in the coming years, we can expect to see:

  • A shift in trade priorities: As the U.S. turns inward, European nations will focus more on trading amongst themselves. A stronger internal market will make Europe less vulnerable to external economic shocks.
  • Investing in European industries: Governments and businesses will invest more in European-made products, services, and technology, reducing reliance on American (or even Chinese) companies.
  • Geopolitical independence: Europe will reassess its reliance on NATO and U.S. military presence, leading to deeper defense cooperation within the EU and increased strategic autonomy.
  • A stronger European identity: With less cultural and political influence from the U.S., Europe may redefine its own values and global leadership role—one that prioritizes democracy, sustainability, and collective prosperity.

Europe approved and Europe made

Where we were used to seeing, 'made in the USA', or 'made in China'. We will now see more 'made in the EU' as the standard for quality and fair-princing/production.

"Never let a good crisis go to waste."

This phrase suggests that even in difficult situations, there are opportunities to be seized—whether for change, innovation, or strategic advantage. This also goes for initiatives in Europe. Now that the focus for co-creation will start looking inward.

Will you start EU's Facebook? Or Google? Or whatever will be needed to replace it's US-made equivalent.

Why MEGA Sounds Better

Let’s be honest—MEGA just sounds better than MAGA.

It’s not about going backward, but about moving forward. It’s not about isolationism, but about making Europe less dependent on a country that seems increasingly disinterested in being a global partner.

A partner who has invested so heavily in their current direction that admitting they chose the wrong path would mean a significant loss of face—so instead, they will likely just double down.

As Europe moves into a new era of self-reliance, the MEGA mindset will become increasingly relevant. Not out of anti-American sentiment, but out of necessity. Because in a world where America no longer leads, Europe must for it's own. And maybe, just maybe, that’s not such a bad thing.

At the end of the day, this isn’t about Europe vs. America. It’s just a reality check. If America wants to do its own thing, that’s fine. Europe will figure things out. And who knows? Maybe it was overdue anyway.

?? FUBAR ~ The US President just fired my VA oncologist for toxic exposure at Camp Lejeune. I have already given my life for this country—not in a single moment, but over years of sacrifice. NOW, as my body is failing ... YOU ???? have left me in the cold ... I guess I am a sucker and loser ... For those of you who voted for Trump. Remember me, when you are out with your family. ?? I gave you that. Remember me, when are sleeping with your spouse. ?? I gave you that. America has forgotten the service and sacrifice of all of its veterans. I never thought I would see the day ... dishonor. https://lnkd.in/gdAHEWWi
