Why lower leg muscles harden

Why lower leg muscles harden

Do you have clients having trouble with lower leg muscles hardening?

The lower leg is also known as a Second Heart.

It's an important part of the body that pumps blood back up to the heart.

Muscles in this area hardening can cause you to feel dull in a large area.

It can be greatly relieved by softening it through treatment to improve the flow of lymph.

Bud do you occasionally get a client that come back soon after as the muscles harden again?

If you do have the opportunity to treat the client again in such manner, check the movement of their ankles.

This is because if the ankle movement is stiff, it increases the likelihood of the lower leg muscles hardening.

This is how it works.

When the ankle is stiff the movement of the gastrocnemius is interrupted and therefore hardens.

When the gastrocnemius hardens the soleus, a muscle covering the surface of gastrocnemius, also hardens.

Gastrocnemius starts from the femur, so when it hardens the flow of lymph behind the knee is worsened, which causes the muscles in the lower leg to harden again in a short time span.

When doing treatment to soften lower leg muscles, it's a a good idea to do it while improving ankle movements.

If you're reading this and haven't been checking ankle movements when treating the lower legs, I recommend incorporating it as it will add to your treatment results.
