Why such low Census 2020 response rate in New York ? Only 61% response rate ?

Why such low Census 2020 response rate in New York ? Only 61% response rate ?

This is not IT related, I know - but it affects the City of New York and affects how much funding the federal government provides to the city & state from the federal coffers. (You know we pay into those - right ?) It is not right that our dollars (as per Gov. Cuomo) actually support other states. Some states get so much support from the federal government that they don't have local city or state taxes - and we do (both NYS tax and NYC tax for those who are residents).

I am surprised that the response rate is only at 61% - I think people are not understanding what this means to the state and local community. This should be closer to 100% so we get our fair share of the taxes that we put into the system. Our city and state will need those funds now more than ever.

Frustrated with this process, but today is the last day to get counted. There is no immigration question or status question, so if you live here - get counted TODAY.

If you are a managing partner or an executive with any size workforce in NYC - please consider forwarding this to everyone in your organization and allowing them 5-10 minutes from their work day to get this done before EOD.

Funny side note - about 10 years ago, my good friend said that the census is just to GPS people (government surveillance) - LOL - Today he works for the Census Bureau and is on the front lines of getting people to get counted :-)
