Why LinkedIn Is the PERFECT Place For Introverts

Why LinkedIn Is the PERFECT Place For Introverts

It has recently occurred to me that LinkedIn is the perfect platform for introverts.

We introverts often struggle with face-to-face networking (getting over the initial hump of getting those first words out of our mouths)?

  • How to start this conversation?
  • How to join some people already in a conversation?
  • What do I say next?

It sounds so basic right? You would not likely think that many people struggle in this way, but this sh&t is real, silent internal battle for many (including myself') introverts.

That is why LinkedIn is the place to be able to connect and network - at an introvert’s pace and style. Slowly, thoughtfully and meaningfully.

More is not better

  • Introverts prefer quality over quantity when it comes to connections and interactions.
  • LinkedIn allows us to select who we connect with after we have had a chance to view their profile, and discover areas of potential commonality.?
  • Communications seem more relaxed, in that you are not expected to respond within milliseconds after receiving receiving a message.

And most importantly, we get to?choose how to initiate our conversations.

LinkedIn is the perfect platform for introverts to take advantage of. Networking can be a daunting task, especially for those who are shy or have a hard time speaking with people face-to-face. Not only does LinkedIn allow for introverts to connect with others without the fear of being judged or having to make small talk, but it also allows for introverts to easily access resources and connections that would normally be difficult to obtain.

Extroverts often have an easier time with networking, as they are more outgoing and tend to know the right things to say in order to make a good impression. But for introverts, networking can be incredibly intimidating, as it requires them to step outside their comfort zone and engage in conversations that may not come naturally. Having a platform like LinkedIn helps alleviate some of that stress since all interactions can be done online and on one's own terms.

For many introverts, making connections is a challenge because they don't know how to approach other people or how to keep the conversation going once they start one. With LinkedIn, however, that is no longer an issue because users can browse other profiles and contact those who interest them directly rather than having to worry about what words they should use or how their body language might be perceived by someone else.

Another benefit of using LinkedIn as an introvert is that it offers a way for users to build relationships slowly over time without having any pressure of keeping up with conversations in real life. Introverts often find themselves overwhelmed in social situations where there's no easy way out such as walking away from a conversation; on LinkedIn though, users have an easy escape route if need be by simply logging off their account and leaving any conversation at their discretion without feeling obligated towards anyone else.

In addition, LinkedIn gives users access to exclusive business opportunities that would normally require face-to-face meetings such as job interviews or pitches for new projects. For example, many employers now use LinkedIn as an effective recruitment tool since it gives them access not only to potential applicants’ resumes but also insight into their professional interests and backgrounds which makes selecting candidates much easier than interviewing dozens of people in person before making decisions.

For these reasons and more, LinkedIn has proven itself invaluable as a networking tool specifically designed for introverts who feel uncomfortable interacting with strangers in person but still want access to important business opportunities or valuable industry contacts. By providing individuals with an alternative way of connecting with others while still allowing them the freedom of anonymity if they choose so, LinkedIn has become an essential part of networking today—especially when it comes to helping those who struggle in social settings due its tailored interface made just for them!

Great article Lisa. LinkedIn is a great place for introverts, although it can, for some, be difficult to get beyond the uncomfortable starting point. Once there, it can be 'just play to your strengths'!
