WHY LIFTING WEIGHTS WILL IMPROVE YOUR LIFE!

If you have a spare hour in the day (think lunch time maybe!) there are literally thousands of things you could do with it. Most people will watch the latest YouTube dancing mouse, eat junk or gossip about Margaret’s weekend! How many of those things make a massive difference to quality of your life in almost all areas? What would make you stronger, tougher, more self-reliant, to push through adversity and be more confident in your ability?

The answer is very few! However, one such thing which ticks all these boxes is LIFTING WEIGHTS!

And here’s how it does it:

- First off when you start lifting you need to beat the most primal feeling of fear by just getting into a gym!

- You then start lifting barbells and dumbbells which can be pretty scary in its self at first.

- Next step you start adding extra weight and you can suddenly do something you previously couldn’t (you’ve learned and improved).

- As things go on the progress will stop or even regress. At this point, or usually a little while after, you formulate a new plan! To do this you may look at your diet, your sleep, your technique - a whole range of angles! By doing this you are finding a solution to a problem, and you’ll come across plenty of these in life!

- As you go along this process your self confidence will grow and you will feel strong, successful and disciplined in this area of you life! That often transgresses to other areas of life (you rarely see a shy and reserved lifter - think about it!)

- Lifting weights has then reinforced that practise , much more than talent, is the best way to get good at doing anything - another life lesson!

And I’ve not even gone into the physical and chemical benefits that occur due to lifting weights!
