Why Learning is important ?

In my life I observed and I listened to my mentor for learning pattern. It’s not easy for everyone like me to have a great mentor in life. So StepUpWiser will come up for the Education Institutes or any organizations with students/or to give a platform to learn or to choose their mentor.
It was a passion for me to learn and to listen to the ideas of my mentor and I didn’t tried to find out what is wrong and right about him/her. But keep on thinking the reason of his activities with rational reasoning.
Learning Types:
· They are self-service learners who choose to learn what they think is important to them. Which excites them and have a meaningful impact to their interest.
· Some of us committed to the outcome of any work been owned by him/her
· Learning from mistakes is another choice we do have.
· Sometimes we ourselves design our learning to be active in our own learning.
· We learn through asking questions, conversation, providing opinion, even by debate.
· Working together in a team is another opportunity to learn.
· We learn every day. If we want to perform. If we have thrive for it.
· Our role models in books and in reality may be different but we do learn from their success stories.
· It has been found in research which hinders our natural learning, where we have our choice, mistake and failure is considered bad, copying and conversing are viewed as cheating, and so on.
But there is difference between learning and effective learning. In the organizations learning and development is considered as cost center not as part of a profit center. It is so important that for a corporate organization or an education Institute to inculcate among its human capital the habit of learning.
Don’t think learning as power point presentation. It should be more innovative with the pace of change we are going through every day.
I remember in 1991 when I was working in Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, I was selected to participate in their learning program with regard to Team building and its effectiveness. Till today I believed what I have gained from that program. So I always believe in “WE” concept. Because it was simple but the bonding created among the team is yet to break. We share and we care and we extend our knowledge among each other even today.
Learning, that is the necessary differentiator for organizational success. So how can you have an impactful learning for your team either in corporate world or in education sector or any other service industry where human interaction is the main factor for every step of their successes? So please Step-Up-Wiser. Thus, if you want your people to be optimally successful, you’d like to have them be as effective as possible at learning, so they can be as effective as possible at the work, at the society and to the country overall that will make a difference to this world.
Then you can scaffold specific skills. Need role models, evidences about behaviors, case studies and uses of resources to solve problems, so you can show how others are doing. Resources who could be available for mentoring/coaching on sharing opinions/talking to get the negative breathe out/just to talk to get the suggestions of your thought processes or problem-solving. We have very less people who listen to us.
However, this really won’t help if you don’t have the culture where it’s safe to share. So you really do want to create a knowledge based learning platform, where you have a conducive culture, leadership that supports learning, and explicit practices. Change of culture is very hard, but if we take the premise that agility is the key to organizational success in this era, a learning culture is the optimal advantage. There are steps to get there.
So let’s take StepUpWiser to get busy learning for yourself, your team, your organization, your society and overall for your country to make it a beautiful Bangladesh. It’s doable and valuable and you can do it.
