Why large companies should work with startups

I don’t think there’s ever been a time when more data is being generated—especially for consumer companies. The sheer amount of data these companies collect from both online and offline sales is staggering. It’s almost unbelievable.

But here’s the real issue: many of these enterprise companies are struggling to figure out how to use this data effectively, if at all.

They know that if they don’t actively invest in identifying new trends or integrating actionable insights into their workflows, they’re going to fall behind.

And the stakes are high. It’s never been easier for smaller, more agile brands to launch—especially in the e-commerce marketplace.

This puts an enormous amount of pressure on leadership, innovation teams, and category managers at large companies, particularly those in the Fortune 100.

From the conversations I’ve had with people in these organizations, it’s clear that they’re facing a massive challenge: they need to make sense of the overwhelming volume of data they’re sitting on. But instead of addressing it head-on, they often rely on data brokers or agency partners, hoping these solutions will somehow get the job done.

The problem is, these partners often fall short. They lack the agility and the ability to personalize solutions for these companies’ unique needs.

That’s where I believe startups like Xena Intelligence come in. Unlike the larger, more rigid agencies or brokers, we’re nimble, and we know how to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of data, technology, and consumer behavior.

I’ve seen it time and time again—companies today need partners who can move as quickly as the data itself. They need someone who can customize and personalize solutions. But unfortunately, many of the traditional players simply aren’t incentivized to do that.

It’s frustrating to see how hesitant some people at these large companies are to bring startups like Xena into their systems.

I get it—it’s a risk—but it’s also such a missed opportunity. I’ve seen firsthand the kind of impact Xena has had on midsize companies, and I can only imagine the level of transformation we could bring to a Fortune 100 company.

At Xena, we’ve built the capabilities to retrieve and analyze massive amounts of e-commerce marketplace data—everything from customer reviews to sales data, competitor insights, keywords, and SEO performance.

And we don’t rely on brokers, which means the quality of our data is top-notch. Every day, my team and I work with our customers to turn that data into insights that are not just interesting but truly actionable.

I know the value we bring to the table. The amount of clarity and impact we can deliver is incredible, and I’m confident that what we’re building at Xena is exactly what these large companies need.

This is how we can help them solve the massive data challenges they’re facing and drive real results in an increasingly competitive, data-driven world.

Totally feel you on this, Akhil! Startups bring a kind of energy and innovation that big companies can’t always match. But don’t you think the lack of stability sometimes makes large companies hesitant to dive in? Curious how you’d approach bridging that gap?
