THIS Is Why Kevin O'Leary Chose Robbie

Having a great idea means nothing if you can't implement, work hard and most of all STICK WITH IT.

Robbie is an incredible entrepreneur who's worked extremely hard. In fact, this whole idea was brought about while Robbie was laid off of work.

It's always a pleasure hearing how real entrepreneurs navigate through the challenges they face and this interview with Robbie was no different. Here's a quick sneak peak to the conversation we had:

Emily Grigely: Robbie, to put it in the simplest terms, you’ve developed a lock that you open with your fingertips. So, how did Benjilock come about?

Robbie Cabral: Well, basically Benjilock started out of the blue. I was working for a company doing real estate marketing for over six months and sadly I got laid off. Then the same day I got laid off, which was around Christmas time, my younger daughter, now she’s going to be six years old, was born the same day. So through that whole situation, I got depressed, overweight, and I said to myself, “I have to do better.” One day, I started going to the gym locally and in the locker room, I noticed that someone left the key inside the locker. Then someone’s coming in to try to bulk cut it and drill it out and all that. And I’m like, wow, how come there’s just not a lock that you can open with your fingerprints in addition to a traditional key. And that’s how Benjilock started.

That was around late 2014. That’s kind of when the idea for BenjiLock started. I started working on the prototype on my own and created what Benjilock is today, like the brand name and all that. I obtained patents and copyrights and assembled a small little team. It’s kind of like a band

that you have to assemble. So I kind of did that on my own. Then in 2017, I decided to unveil the BenjiLock prototype at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. That’s how the Benjilock name started getting noticed.
