Why Juniors don’t have time to waste

Several of my students have winter break this week and will take advantage of the holiday to participate in special campus visits of colleges on their list. I make special mention about campuses "on their list" because juniors really don't have time to waste. The college applications are only a short six months away. Even virtually visiting campuses for the sake of "seeing" is a waste of time.

Admittedly, some juniors may be waiting on test scores to set more realistic visits. I get that. Students often remark that they feel confident about their test scores . . . .until they see them. So if your teen has a test coming up, please make sure they have ample time to prep.

Featured Client- Client Success Stories

I was worried about the complexity of the college admissions process and I wanted my daughter to take the lead but I also knew from experience how difficult it can be to stay on top of every detail while doing well in school and keeping up with extracurriculars. As a result of working with the Compass team, I didn't have to nag my daughter and put stress on our relationship. The Compass team was able to encourage my daughter to put together a plan to finish all the components of every application well before the deadline. They really helped take the stress out of the process.
