Why?
WHY?
THEY have the power, THEY have the money, THEY have the media, THEY have government on side. So why, why, why do THEY have to SCREAM so much?
If THEY have the right to call themselves “orthodox” meaning Correct or Science Right, can’t THEY just put forward THEIR proven facts and compare THEM with our proven facts and accept the judgement of intelligent citizens like you and I?
Why hysterically demand the cancellation of a speaking tour by a doctor with an alternative view of “Vaccines are Safe and Effective and Necessary “ for a healthy population, is a denial of democratic freedom of expression. If the statement were undeniably true, the supporters should be happy to discuss in a public arena, particularly when the people who tend to avoid vaccination for themselves and their children, have been shown to be in the upper socio-economic stratum of intelligent society! Now David Icke has been added to the list of visas withdrawn because of alternative views. Totalitarian Australia???
Why do the big GM Companies spend many millions running campaigns to prevent labelling of gm products if they are truly safe and “Substantially Equivalent” as the FDA tells us. Why didn’t the lobbyist for Monsanto drink a glass of Roundup after telling the TV interviewer that Roundup was so safe you could drink a gallon of it? How dare Monsanto attack the WHO for suggesting that Roundup is a “probable carcinogen”?
Why do we swallow a mandated drug, of uncontrolled dosage, which is absorbed vastly more by children than by adults because of their ratio of body weight to size and metabolism. Most people vote against it when given a vote, but it goes ahead anyway.
These books set out to examine the basis of many of the establishment statements that they DEMAND that we, the simple people, accept without question. Sight unseen ,a religious person must accept the existence of God, but when the facts exist to prove or disprove scientific, economic or political conclusions, why are we denied the freedom to question things that “don’t seem to make sense”, when those things also seem to act against our, or society’s interests?
John Hurley’s Books will follow his thinking, reasoning and researching from his own life experiences, when he saw things that “didn’t make sense” and he applied the questions of “Why?”, “Cui Bono, or Who stands to benefit”. He found some horrifying answers, which over the years he became more and more determined to analyse in simple day-to-day terms and share widely in the community. He has thus developed a unique talent for “joining the dots” and simplifying discussions which are often made over- complicated, to keep them out of reach of the average person’s education. He also found stunning parallels with global politics, where the gullibility of the general population is challenged over and over, as gradually freedoms are relinquished, in return for some mythical “security” that favours readily identifiable, corporate and political vested interested.
Dear Reader, from 1963 – 1973, I was calling on doctors and pharmacists to promote the ethical products of a Lil’ old Australian Company. For most of this time I learned to implicitly “believe” in the integrity of the company and that its products were safe and effective within reason. At the same time, I was taught that “alternative” or nutritional medicines originated from charlatans and witch doctors, without any backing from “real science”. Patients were knowingly being cheated with what were, in effect, Placebos, disgracefully unethical – should be banned – nothing worse than “giving false hope”. Dangerous, because they might prevent the patient receiving “real treatment” by a qualified professional. I was reassured that drug companies, particularly mine, dealth with honest products designed to work safely and effectively, first and foremost, for the good of the patient.
My first hiccup occurred when I suffered an emotional crisis. Family doctor, a caring and religious man< sympathised, prescribed “Stelazine” which tuned me into a zombie for a couple of weeks, but solved none of the “why?” and “What to do?” so he referred me to a “top” psychiatrist, who asked lots of questions, prescribed “Tryptanol” antidepressant. It might have made me less depressed, but more anxious because I found myself agonisingly blocked, both ways, in the toilet. Next stop, a “top” psychologist who had me analysing shapes and seeing images from ink blots and rough photos of criminals from the 1890’s. Conclusions: I should have studied Architecture instead of Medicine and I had a strong interest in sex (in my 30’s and not getting any). The first advice was not really useful, the second was obvious and I needn’t have paid to find out, even from a top psychologist.
So much for the effectiveness of standard medical care and treatment for ME! Soothing words and clever chemicals just weren’t cutting it. If it was to be, it was up to me, true?
My second hiccup occurred, curiously, when our li’l old Aussie company, was enjoying small but exciting successes when we were able to demonstrate to doctors that we had a product which was provably more effective than a BIG BIG American company’s. Exciting, that we grew from 0.3% market share to 13%, shaving the gain from the BIG company’s 75% market share. Their response was to threaten: 1) stop our raw material supply and 2) to “make things difficult for us” with the federal regulator! My company told me to stop my team, the best state team in Australia, promoting the difference, because it made them look bad and they weren’t prepared to upgrade to our level of efficacy. Hard to stop when you’re winning. I was slow to respond. Sacked just a couple of months short of Long Service entitlement, but disobedience was not to be tolerated, was it?
So, the idealist woke up to the realities of an enormous industry, which jealously protected its shareholders’ and financial interests far ahead of your and my community’s interests.
As the idealist I also started to look at “the Alternatives”. Mega “B” vitamins, tryptophan and others from the health food stores. They earned me time and strength to work out my own problems, but always with a mixture of anger and frustration that I’d been somehow cheated after such strong beliefs in the orthodox. A pharmacist recommended me to study Chiropractic at Melbourne night class.
Advised to try Chiropractic (4 yrs part-time study) showed me a new field of information, as well as anatomy and physiology, that made sense.
This “witch doctor stuff” was logical, made sense and I often saw it working. Was this just placebo, or were they afraid it might challenge their monopoly? Hmmmm!
So I qualified as a chiropractor, gained different perspectives on health, becoming less dogmatic in my opinions on the options available to the average person interested in prevention, treatment and cure of the common degenerative diseases which are bankrupting governments around the world. However, having come through a family crisis, I had little self-confidence, poor self esteem and after practising for a short while, realised I was not going to become a worthwhile contributor to patients or the profession, left it and looked for an area better suited to my abilities.
One approach that experiences to this date taught me was to question and analyse everything that I found suspicious/didn’t make sense, in the following steps:
1) Does it make common sense?
2) If not, why not?
3) Cui bono? Or Who stands to benefit?
4) Why?
5) What does make common sense?
6) How can we change to what makes sense?
7) Who can we share this with?
8) Can we start NOW?
That’s what these ebooks (Better health with Common Sense) are about. Please read as they become available, enjoy, be exposed, be educated, be encouraged to share with the world!
