Times like this requires new approach.
The companies affected by #COVID-19 absolutely need people however most of them are suffering with problem with no permanent fix as there is no assurance for this kind of global situation to not happen again.
A good company will always have long term plans with the full-time employees they invest in. Remember your employment is an investment for your employer. A lot of companies are trying to implement business plans to get faster recovery on the financial losses.
And again due to financial loses of 2020 most of the business are hesitant or are careful with long term investments like hiring an employee. And a lot of such unintentional hidden criteria might not show up on a posted Job or their applicant tracking system.
A lot of companies are focused on solving bigger problems in shorter time with lesser commitment. No matter how good your profile is if your application is not articulating a solution for their business problem then there are higher chances of your profile getting ignored.
A few approaches that can be tried when the Job application is unresponsive is-
To try approaching them as a consultant who can easily be hired and fired. Send emails to hiring managers, head of departments, HR, CEO with a content that showcases high level templates for project plans that could be a
- Solution for the common problems they must be facing.
- Pitch for a short-term engagement that eases their long term commitment issue.
- Propose solutions that will show results in 3-6 months.
- Out of the Box, plug and play resources.
The whole idea is to market your profile with a slightly different approach. Your resume content itself will give you ideas on creating those emails templates.
A business plan is more valuable than a decorated resume.
