Hi there - Hope you're day is going well.
It’s raining and it's 48 degrees in New York.
Today, I'm going to talk about why it's important to send messages.
Are you ready? Let's rock and roll!
------------------------------
I received some messages on LinkedIn a few days ago.
Thank you messages from my connections.
Here is one from last Friday:
"Hi Craig.
This is a 'thank you' message for you.
Thanks a TON for always engaging with my posts and adding value. Grateful to have you in my connection.?
Have a lovely weekend ahead."
Here are three reasons why you should send messages:
Reason #1: To build relationships.
When was the last time you sent a DM (Direct Message)?
Show how you care. Show interest. Show up on their posts.
Make your messages about the other person.
Build relationships to build trust.
Reason #2: To build trust.
People protect their attention.
Give them something to read.
Find out what they like. What they’ve written about. What their hobbies are.
Earn the right to be trusted and earn the right to gain your trust.
Reason #3: To show how you care.
Show how you care with your actions.
Actions show how you value someone.
Show them you value the relationship.
Give them praise and validation for their work.
Send links to articles or posts or podcasts they might enjoy.
Talk about why the links matter.
I do this with compliments on recent posts.
People appreciate it when you show you paid attention.
Send messages with care.
To recap:
1. To build relationships.
2. To build trust.
3. To show how you care.

1 年??Personal Tip: Send links first. Write your message after you send the link. Mention why the link is important. Makes it easy for the person to understand.
