When I was young, the museum was a place to visit.
You learn about different exhibits and enjoy yourself.
Four years ago on a Saturday, I went to a museum in Brooklyn, New York called "Brooklyn Museum".
It's an art museum that ranges from ancient Egyptian masterpieces to contemporary art.?
The museum represents a wide range of cultures.
It's a place to be around people, learn, get inspired, and even buy souvenirs at the gift shop.
Here are three reasons why it's important to go to the museum.
Tip #1: To learn about the culture and get inspired.
You can choose to go with a group, by yourself, or ask for a museum tour.
Who remembered in school you went on the yellow school bus (also known as the Cheese Bus) for class trips?
Plenty of times in school, I went to the Museum of Natural History, The Museum of Modern Art, and more.
Back to the tip.
When you observe the work of artists, you get inspired, self-reflect, and gain new ideas.
Ideas for you to create art, music, poetry, and more.
The inspiration from people's work will give you information and inspiration.
It helps you learn about your history.
Tip #2: To meet like-minded people.

Let's face it.
In a museum, you want to relax.
To recharge.
To be around people who love museums and are curious.
You can ask for a map and explore to your heart's content.
Or go with a group.
You can create memories or take a photo with the people you meet.
Tip #3: To volunteer.
You can even volunteer and put it on your resume.
Or on your LinkedIn profile.
Or even on your website.
Volunteers are the public face of the museum.
They greet people at the door, provide directions, and lead tours.
Museums are a great place to visit for families, friends, adults, and kids.
Visit your local museum and enjoy yourself. Have fun.
What else did I miss about going to a museum?

2 年We have a museum in our community of 33K. When my son was younger, we'd go monthly. Just like watching a good movie, watching it again you pick up on missed scenes or conversations. Museums offer so much rich goodness that going multiple times gives you the opportunity to soak it all in. Now that he's older, we go a few times a year. They tend to have new exhibits or add new elements to their selections 1-2x year. Thanks for sharing the nuggets from your visit to the Brooklyn Museum.

2 年I love going to museums - they feed my soul. My favorites are idiosyncratic museums that go deep on an interesting cultural niche. If you haven't visited the Poster House museum in NYC's Flatiron / Chelsea area Craig Davis, it's a must-do!

2 年I love museums Craig! I would add: ????Museums are a testament to the perseverance of humanity. ????Museums are great for research, help bring change and development to communities: in providing access to current research and new ideas, they become hot-spots for civic engagement.

2 年I agree that going to the museum challenges you. Whenever I go see art, it always invokes a feeling in me. Sometimes an unexpected feeling. And it challenges me to think, “Why do I have THAT feeling when I look at this piece?”
