Today you can’t imagine transmission and distribution in power grid without its key link – transformers. Among other electrical apparatus such as high voltage switchgears, transformers use dielectric oils as an insulating filler. To keep all system working a periodical and preventive maintenance is very important.
As a result of continuous use, high operation temperatures, and chemical interactions, or in case of contamination such oil (or other liquid insulator) can lose its initial characteristics – mainly deterioration of dielectrics strength. It can lead to malfunction of equipment
Testing of transformer oil and analysis of obtained data can provide the operator with necessary information about any existing or possible faults. If you make such tests periodical - it even can even show trends. At the same time you don’t have to pull down the equipment from its running condition which in the end saves you time and money.
KEP OLT-A and OLT-M series oil testers provide you with plain and convenient way to perform breakdown voltage testing and show accurate and repeatable results of measures. Fast high-voltage switch off time makes it possible to carry out test of dielectric liquids, which are easily destroyed under such influences.
Testers are fully equipped and are ready for operation right after unpacking. They come with a test vessel (IEC 60156 – basic configuration) with VDE 0370 mushroom-shape electrodes. Mushroom, spherical or disc/cylindrical shaped electrodes are also available for ASTM D1816, ASTM D 877 and IEC 60156 standard tests. A gap between electrodes is easily regulated with a use of pass-no pass gauge, which comes in pack. A-series provides with fully automatic test procedure according to selected standard (basically IEC 60156 and GOST 6581 settings are preloaded).
OLT-A has a built-in printer which is able to print a test report after procedure is done. Test results are saved into non-volatile memory of OLT tester. A PC-connectivity makes it easy to collect data from OLT tester, save and store them as well as print a fulfilled report. Test voltage is being measured directly on electrodes. This fact combined with a true sine voltage shape (independent from supply voltage shape), increases repeatability and accuracy of measurements.
OLT-80A online simulator will help you to see all possibilities of the device and also will help to train your stuff after buying one of the units.
