The increase in the number of residents living in Ras Al Khaimah is a key driver in property demand in the emirate. Following an increase in expatriate population observed over the past few years, the demand for studio to 1-bedroom units have been projected to resolve a forecasted rental demand in the coming years. The decrease in household size has also influenced the market to move from development of mansions and mega residences to family villas and townhouses. Recently, there have been reports that major middle eastern developers are currently in talks with Ras Al Khaimah, including Forbes Middle East’s top real estate developer -- Emaar.??

The Ras Al Khaimah Municipality has recently revealed their 5-year development plan to highlight the emirate as a competitive investment & tourism destination in the gulf. Having the same market behavior as Dubai’s real estate market, Ras Al Khaimah believes that intensifying its tourism offerings will branch out and cultivate progress across all other industries in the emirate. Enhancing its tourism portfolio will increase the value of the RAK property market, the same way direct sectors like retail, hospitality and food will progress.
