1 年An intersectional approach should include men, too. We must unite to take a stand against all forms of discrimination and abuse, and promote gender equality as allies and advocates. Men have the ability and responsibility to drive change through their community, workplace, and families. Together, we can promote an all-encompassing approach that is intersectional in nature. Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but the necessary foundation to achieve a peaceful, thriving, and sustainable world. Fighting together for equality and justice is the only way to build an equitable society.

1 年Clara Conti Great high level summary on intersectionality. I am highly passionate about this topic so I hope you don’t mind my long winded comments. When talking about the work that organizations can ( and should do) in DE&I a common missteps come to mind based on my own observation of corporate structures and cultures: DE&I cannot be an afterthought or it might as well not be a thought. In order to effectively encourage systemic progression towards equality and inclusion at an organization it must be a priority that is woven into all layers and aspects of the business. Conversations leaders should be having within their organization include topics like : What is the diversity spread amongst our leaders (and on down), those who have the most material impact on the business, and those with the most decisioning authority? How do we attract (and retain) more diverse talent? Is DE&I explicitly prioritized in our company values and/mission statements? If so, what resources, benefits, programs, and processes do we have in place to ensure they are practiced?
