Why Integrated Digital Marketing

Why Integrated Digital Marketing

First things first – what is Integrated Digital Marketing (IDM)?

In normal words that means making all strategically-right-for-your-business digital channels working towards specific business goals simultaneously in synchronous. Those are YOUR business goals!

Think of it in terms of marketing channels - Social Media, Blogging, Emailing, SEM, SEO, Display Advertising, Mobile Ads, In-app & In-Store Ads & Promotions, UX optimization, Video & Gifs marketing etc.

Now, after we made it clear what is Integrated Digital Marketing, let’s see what is happening in the market.

Nowadays the market is full of online agencies, digital boutiques, social media marketers and many other players that are offering some kind of digital marketing. It just isn’t enough anymore!

Just like in normal (offline) marketing (TV, Radio, Press, BTL, Outdoor etc), in digital - your brand needs the right marketing strategy with working - properly executed tactics, to achieve its goals! And always by more than one marketing channel!

It is conceptually wrong to use a concrete channel just because it is modern and because everybody says they are good marketing channels!

What do I mean? Well, it is simple – just because they are good, it doesn’t mean they are good for your brand, for your goals, for your target audience… If you jump to every modern digital channel, when it comes to the spotlight, without cross-referencing it versus your digital strategy and your goals, you pretty much will be throwing your marketing dollars away!

Let’s see an example.

Let’s say your business is a B2B (business to business) service – for example you make hardware maintenance for computers in many firms.

Your target audience would be CEOs, CMOs and technical maintenance employees at the firms you approach.

One of you possible marketing goals could be to position yourself as a professional, trustworthy partner with in-depth knowledge of computer related process in different firms.

Now ask yourself – how exactly will you achieve that via Pinterest for example? In terms of Social Media as a channel, much more appropriate consideration would be LinkedIn – because it is business oriented.

You could use it to share the qualitative, technical, professional content that you make at your blog and to contact the right professionals giving them value before asking for their money.

Mix this picture with the right SEO optimization so that any of those professionals could easily find you via search engines, when considering a purchase of a service that you provide.

Top it up with a lead generation mailing campaign towards potentially interested in your services people that got at your website intentionally and there you go! You have an exemplary (though simple) integrated digital marketing plan.

None of that would happen right if you trust an online marketing professional specialized in any single channel (Social Media, Blogger, SEO or Display Adds oriented).

In today’s digital reality you simply need integrated, cross-channel approach!

So if not use those channels, what then, you will ask…?

Well, USE THEM – but in a specific, strategically shaped, combined way! A.K.A. Integrated way!

Here is the place for IDM to come to the scene! The best way to do it is by having someone to create for you an integrated digital marketing plan aligned with your overall marketing strategy and  goals, which to be aligned with your business goals.

It looks like that:
