WHY will India not be an alternative to China in the post Covid era ?

There has been a lot of watsapp messages ,online business meetings ,news reports and many other articles coming out projecting India as an alternative to china in the post covid era.As an Indian ,living and doing business in the country I always want that to happen and would always wish to contribute towards the same. Unfortunately the real fact is that , may be for another 50 years or so, this will just remain as a dream of an Indian who always want his country on top.

Of course there has been some kind of misunderstandings between the US,Europe and the Chinese.A lot of anti-China comments are getting posted by Mr.Donald Trump and the entire world economy is in a standstill ,not knowing where we are heading to.There are some planned propaganda's that are getting executed to showcase that this is a great opportunity for India to compete with China .From my viewpoint this is not going to work ,because of the following reasons .

• Indians does not have a product oriented mindset.

Indian people does not possess a product focused mindset .If you check with Indian Managers and workforce you can easily visualise this issue.Actually Indians possess a service based mindset .To create a product based mindset we need to have an educational system which focus on building those kind of skillsets which we lack in India.Next is with the attitude of people on following processes ,policies and laws.This attitude will take decades and generations to change and this may not be possible in the near future.The lack of this mindset and skills will clearly reflect in Indias growth.Of course ,the service sector will grow in India ,but the competition is very high in this area and this sector also will not bring in much growth to Indian Economy.

• Indian economy is in an irrecoverable state

Majority of the industries and sectors in India was already in the Intensive Care unit before Covid 19.The SME sector in India was heavily injured by the wrong steps of the policy makers like the note ban, the incorrect GST implementation etc. The pandemic came as a blessing for the Indian Policy makers as they were on a dilemma of how to save the economy from a crash.The Indian industrialists were trying hard to cope up with the situations and to recover somehow from shutting down.The Covid 19 lockdown has already forced many of those firms to shutdown and the there are no more hopes for a majority.So I feel that India may not be able to capitalize on the opportunities that may come in .

• The communal unrest in the country

The country is already polarized by the dirty politicians for their political gains.The minds of people are already hacked and have cultivated hatred against the people of the other religion.This hatred has resulted in lynching incidents and communal riots.This is not going to end in the coming years and many more incidents of social unrest and violence may happen.This not only weakens the Indian economy ,but also prevents investors from investing in this land.The post Covid era will be of those countries who has the real reserves and unfortunately for India this reserves will be in the hands of middle east countries .Many of the middle east countries have already expressed their concerns on the communal issues in India and they would refrain from Investing in India or employing Indian workforce.

All the above factors will be a huge blow for India and India will even go further down from where they were in the pre Covid times.The economic unrest in the country will result in job loss and income loss for the poor and middle class in the country .Even the industrialists in India would stay back from investing in the country and they would surely go for some outsourcing models.The economies like the US and Europe will be suffering huge blows and the Indian Service sector also will get affected by this.In a nutshell the future is not that bright for India as it is being forecasted or like being circulated .China will continue as the Super manufacturer and the other countries will continue to depend on China ,no matter what the security issues or other propagandas getting aired .
