Why is it important to test the load capacity of vacuum cups?

The lifting capacity of the suction cups should be checked at least once a year.

After 2 years, a customer sent the suction cups from the basic frame of the Kombi 7411-DS7Z vacuum lifter to us for testing.

Here you can view the result. Cleaning with methylated spirits was able to improve the result, but this was no longer sufficient.

The friction characteristics of the suction cups change, and get progressively worse as time goes by. This is why it is important to check the lifting capacity of vacuum lifters to ensure that they can operate safely. Proper care also includes regular cleaning of the suction cup surfaces. You see, only suction cups with sufficient lifting capacity can assure safe transport.
