Why is it important to monitor air quality in low and middle income countries (LMIC)?

Air pollution is a problem that affects virtually the entire world's population. In fact, @WHO estimates that 99% of people are exposed to high levels of pollutants.

And as we discussed in one of our last articles, this is an issue that not only affects health, but also has implications for the climate.

But it is especially in LMICs that the consequences of continuous exposure to pollution are felt most acutely.

Protecting the population means taking measures. And developing effective policies requires data, in this case, on air quality. But if achieving this goal is difficult in developed countries, imagine the challenge when monitoring network is poor or non-existent.

It is in circumstances like these that projects such as the one we have been developing in Ethiopia in collaboration with UN Environment Programme and World Athletics become particularly valuable.

Our monitoring solutions provide quality and realiable data, the basis for developing strategies to improve people's health.

And our work ends up being mentioned by institutions such as the World Bank, which, in our view, demonstrates the usefulness of our work.

In short: protect yourself, protect the environment.
