Why I'm taking my new journey

I wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone for all the kind words on my new adventure! If you care or are wondering about it please read on, but if not, i wont be offended if you stop right here. :)

I've got a lot of messages asking about why I made the move. They've all come as some form of "Russ, you were killing it. What happened? What did they do to make you quit?" So if I didn't get back to you I wanted to make sure you knew. The reason why is so long I had to actually write and article haha, but I wanted my answer to do justice to my decision.

They didn't do anything. I absolutely loved working at CA. It has been the best company I've worked for to date. My management team and I were very close, they treated me with respect and they listened to my input. I had great business and personal relationships with many people in the organization. I learned so much there, that I don't know how I made it before without the knowledge and experience I gained. They take care of people who are willing to work hard for them, and I would certainly be open to my career returning there one day and would recommend to anyone who is considering working there to absolutely capitalize on that opportunity.

The next question, seems to be. "You had a job you loved, made a ton of money, and had leadership that respected and valued you, why did you leave that?" It was a very hard decision. One not taken lightly. But I also knew people at my new company. They respect me as well. They have a phenomenal product that I believe can help organizations achieve quality goals that they have struggled for years to achieve. And they offered me the opportunity to take on a larger role leading a team an advancing my career. One of the things I've noticed about many people and organizations attempting to reach their goals is hesitancy to act and move forward. I'm confident my willingness to act and pursue my goals will pay off and help me achieve them!

In short, I love where I've been. I love where I'm at, and I love where I'm going. That's a good thing, and I'm excited to continue my relationship with most of you going forward! Don't hesitate to reach out!

Great reasons to move on. Well calculated risks are very often worth it. One never knows what they are capable of doing unless they challenge themselves. I know you will be awesome!

Good stuff man! Working on a good product is always rewarding.
