Why I’m Not Firing Anyone (But I’m Definitely Hiring ChatGPT)
When people hear about AI, their first thought often jumps to job losses and robots taking over. So, let’s stir the pot a little: I, as a CEO, am not firing anyone…yet. Instead, I’m rolling out the welcome mat for #ChatGPT, my new AI assistant. Imagine an intern who never sleeps, never asks for a raise, and consistently delivers top-notch insights(?). Sounds like a dream, right?
This isn’t about replacing talent; it’s about leveraging AI to elevate what we do and how we do it. So, buckle up and see why I’m betting on AI to transform the way we work – and why you should be excited, not scared.

1. Data Analytics Dynamo:
ChatGPT has completely transformed how I handle data analytics. From parsing through vast amounts of data to generating insightful reports, my AI assistant makes it possible to derive actionable insights faster than ever. By leveraging ChatGPT’s capabilities, I’ve enhanced my decision-making processes, allowing me to stay ahead in the competitive landscape
.
I started this year looking for a data analyst to help me wade through reams of data, to help me sort, classify, structure, analyse, co-relate and extrapolate. To help me get information from the data to enable better decision making.
2. Routine Task Master:
Say goodbye to the mundane! ChatGPT excels at handling routine tasks that can bog down valuable time. Whether it’s drafting job descriptions, summarising lengthy documents, or refining content to make it more concise and impactful, this AI tool streamlines these processes, freeing up my time to focus on more strategic initiatives.
I have easily doubled my productive output using GPT extensively to help build on base ideas. Draft my notes and use GPT to expand on them into a full letter/document. Feed a 240 page pdf and extract the POV of just one author from that document. That summary helped me establish a more meaningful relationship with a potential partners.
3. Ideation Soundboard:
Creativity often needs a spark, and ChatGPT has become my go-to ideation partner. Acting as a digital soundboard, it helps me debate and refine abstract ideas, transforming them into viable strategies and innovative solutions. This collaboration has led to breakthroughs that might have taken much longer to materialize otherwise.
A 40 minute layover in #Dubai was enough to ideate and create two custom GPT's that have improved our sales team's time to readiness by 25%. That's a direct cost savings of 1 month payroll per employee and 50% increase in PPP across the same period.
#ChatGPT has allowed me to become an #IdeaFactory.

4. The Ultimate Intern:
Finding the right intern can be a challenge and I've spent the last 2 years between interviewing and debating the time spent in interviewing for this role. I now use ChatGPT extensively to do the basic and mundane and when I do need more help, I'm making a better decision of hiring an expert, rather than an intern. This stop-gap arrangement ensures I maximize productivity and focus on the most critical areas.

However, as much as I’d like to boast about my AI assistant’s capabilities, it’s important to acknowledge that ChatGPT isn’t perfect. There are still some areas where it falls short, reminding us that we’re not quite living in a sci-fi movie just yet. Some of these limitations are from my perspective and not necessarily all of the negatives (doomsday) that have been documented by other writers.
1. Lack of Integration with Third-Party Platforms:
While ChatGPT excels in many areas, one significant limitation is its inability to interact with other systems and processes. For instance, if I need to block my calendar, ChatGPT can’t access my Gmail or Outlook to schedule appointments. It also can’t handle tasks like hotel reservations or flight bookings, which require integration with third-party platforms. This gap in functionality means I still need to rely on other tools and manual intervention for these tasks, highlighting a crucial area where AI still has room to grow.
We've seen various AI tools like Rabbit and Humane come up with solutions where AI can interact with external system but like those companies, this is still at an very rudimentary level. Buying a $3 tiepin on Amazon can be a 8 hour nightmare given the vast choice available and do I let AI cancel on my wife to accommodate my barber's appointment?
2. Inability to Respond to Emails or Calls Automatically:
Another area where ChatGPT falls short is in responding to emails or calls using a prescribed knowledge base I’ve built for it. While it can generate content and assist in drafting responses, it can’t yet fully represent me in real-time communications through other digital channels. This means I can’t completely rely on ChatGPT to handle my correspondence, requiring my personal attention to ensure that responses are accurate and appropriately tailored.
In an ideal world, this will allow me to have 2-3 versions of myself. I can respond to calls, complete meetings, review reports and address the board, while the real me, is watching Netflix!
3. Limited Real-Time Video Collaboration:
The third limitation is more about the future potential of AI. Currently, ChatGPT lacks the capability for real-time video collaboration or the ability to visually bring ideas to life through a virtual avatar. Imagine having a virtual colleague in the room who can discuss ideas, share visual aids, and collaborate on projects just as a human would. While this technology is in the experimental stage, it’s not yet accessible, leaving a gap in fully immersive and interactive AI-driven collaboration.
"Imagine a world where your tedious tasks are my problem, your creative ideas get turbocharged, and your productivity hits new heights. I’m here to make your today smarter and your tomorrow brighter. Ready to join forces and show everyone what AI can really do?" - ChatGPT
We are at one of the most transformational phases of human development. The is eon is going to be significantly more impactful than the industrial age. The age of AI is truly here and we need to adapt or we will be obsolete.

3 个月Very clever. :-) Getting along with AI and having a clear 'deal' with it is better always since it can even (back)fire you as well :-) (Don't fire me for this note sir ji. Even an Artificial fire can create impacts!!! ) :-)
