Why I'm Against to Formulate Cheaper Products

I want share an interesting situation with you about cleaning industry.

3 years ago some products came to market. They were built upon customer’s wants: soap based all surface cleaners.

First products had 30% soap inside that is enough for high-level cleaning. When years passed, the soap level first decreased to under 15% and last months it dropped to less than 5%. It is impossible to clean with less than 5% soap with these type of products.

The first product that has launched 3 years ago.

I understand there is a huge competition in market. Moreover, retail chains ask for cheaper products. Any marketer can say, because of these reasons we should create cheaper products. 

But when you make a cheap “soap based all surface cleaner” with less amount of soap; you turn your product to “water with bubbles”. This product will not clean and this causes market crash.

This is what is seen in “soap based all surface cleaner” market now: first years of this type of product, medium size of retail shop sold more than 15 pieces of product in a day; whereas today they sell less than 10 pieces in a month!

I know that some of you think that “But even Apple has cheaper products! We can have too!”.

Here is my answer to you: Is there any Apple product that does not make its job? Are there any iPhones without call or internet option; are there any MacBooks without battery? Of course no.

I share some of the pictures I got from last years and you can see how companies push low quality products to the market. 

Less than 5% of soap.
Less than 5% of soap and other active matters. Please note that this products is called "soap based" but there are nearly no soap inside. This is one of the newest product in 2020.
One of the product from 2019 with 5-15 % of soap. Not a good product but it works somehow.

They say they do this for competition. They say consumers want cheaper products. They say personal income has decreased last years so they have cheaper products.

At Sorti Kimya; we all come with different approach. We always look market to create new solutions and we aim the highest quality. We have never ever competed on price and we are on market for 32 years. 

There is always a better solution. Keep looking for it and do no fall into market traps.
