Why I’ll Be Sticking to My New Year’s Resolutions

Happy New Year! It’s that time again—fresh starts, big dreams, and, of course, resolutions. I know, I know... New Year’s resolutions get a bad rap. Every year, we set them with the best intentions, only to watch them fade away as life gets busy. But this year feels (will be) different, and here’s why I’ll be sticking to mine.
1. I’m focusing on the “why”
This year, my resolutions aren’t just about hitting a target; they’re about the why behind them. Instead of “lose 10 pounds,” it’s “feel more energetic and confident.” The deeper meaning makes it easier to stay on track when motivation dips.
2. I’m taking baby steps
Gone are the days of all-or-nothing goals. This year, I’m breaking my resolutions into small, manageable steps. If I miss a day or two, it’s okay. Progress, not perfection, is the goal.
3. I’ve got accountability
Let’s be real - accountability is a game changer. Whether it’s sharing my goals in our RizeAbv50 community or having a buddy to check in with, knowing someone else is cheering me on keeps me going. We’re in this together!
4. I’m celebrating the wins (big and small)
Every step forward is worth celebrating. This year, I’m not waiting for the finish line to pat myself on the back. Every small win is a step towards the bigger picture, and I’m learning to enjoy the journey.

5. I’m keeping it fun
Resolutions don’t have to be a chore. I’m finding ways to make my goals enjoyable. Whether it’s trying a new recipe for healthy eating or turning my workouts into a playlist dance party, the fun factor keeps me coming back for more (even if my wife and kids think I'm a terrible dancer).
6. I’m giving myself some slack
Life happens, and sometimes things don’t go as planned. This year, I’m embracing the idea that it’s okay to stumble. What matters is picking myself up and continuing the journey. Resilience over rigidity, every time (and add some flexibility to my workout routine too, I'm as flexible as a broom stick).
7. I’m inspired by you
Launching the RizeAbv50 brand is a constant source of inspiration. Looking forward to engaging with you on what matters to you, seeing all of you (us) pushing forward, sharing stories, and supporting one another reminds me why we’re here: to reignite that spark and embrace the best yet to come. Your energy fuels mine, and I’m beyond grateful.
So, as we step into this new year, let’s do it with intention, joy, and a whole lot of support.
What are YOUR new year's resolutions?
Here’s to sticking with it and making this year one to remember!????
We're launching at the end of the month! More to come in the next few days.
Remember, the best is yet to come, and together, we’ve got this!
Let's rize together.
