Why Ignore

It’s appalling that we had to title this newsletter Ignore—but it’s the harsh truth. Despite being recognized as Google’s "Top Global Anemia Influencer" and having thousands of connections with corporate leaders, healthcare providers, government officials, and pharmaceutical experts worldwide, I’ve seen little meaningful progress in addressing anemia.
Awards are given, titles are extended, and speeches abound—yet none of these efforts seem to prioritize the critical and growing issue of anemia. This isn’t just a problem for women; it’s a global crisis that threatens the health of corporate leaders, healthcare workers, and everyday people alike.
Reaching Out for Women’s Global Equity
This initiative is long overdue. Anemia awareness deserves a central role in conversations about women’s health equity. While the efforts of many organizations are admirable, it often feels like we’re traveling in circles, breaking cycles only to repeat them.
Why wasn’t anemia included as a global priority in the first place?
A Simple Illustration
Imagine being on a desert where millions of families lack access to enough water to survive. Compassion would move us to address this health-related crisis. We would start by listening to the largest and most vocal populations—women and children—and work to understand the common denominator of their suffering: thirst.

Now, translate this to anemia. If we brought awareness to anemia as the "common denominator" early on, could we change the global trajectory of this issue? Tackling anemia head-on might prevent countless other health challenges down the road.
Why Ignore Exists
This newsletter is designed to listen. We welcome women from across the globe to share their stories, experiences, and thoughts on anemia. Whether you’ve dealt with iron deficiency personally or supported someone who has, your voice matters.
We are not looking for polished authors, impressive credentials, or corporate powerhouses. We are looking for real—because anemia is real.
Too many organizations attempt to think like women and represent women without truly understanding. We want to feel like women and advocate for change from that perspective.
If you’re ready to share your story or contribute to this movement, feel free to DM me. Together, we can ensure that no woman feels ignored—and that anemia gets the attention it deserves.
