Why I want to be of service to humanity.

I've had my fair share of childhood neglect, abuse and abandon. I've had my fair share of racism and bullying as a teen. I've had my fair share of inexplicable diseases, and near death experiences. I've lost a business partner to greed and gun violence. My wife and I went through hell, twice, with premi's in the NICU for three month, not knowing if our double brain bleed babies would die or not.
Life has not been easy on me. Having said that, I wouldn't change a day of it. I share this all, because even thought life has thrown me more than one life times worth of curve balls, I'm full of gratitude and feel blessed to wake up every morning.
During the first week of covid, I was visiting my cousin Yasmin Rahimi DC FIAMA in AZ. She mentioned that she had invested in Footprint . I looked the company up and immediately loved what they did and stood for. I asked my cousin if she knew anyone at the company, to which she knew the CMO, Susan Koehler . I asked her to send my static free films, llc reel to Susan and within a hour Susan showed up at my cousin's house. We spent a few hours getting to know each other, but also laid out a game plan for all of Susan's content plays for for the following months. Those following months turned in to two and a half years. Susan and I creating animated short films, mini docs on the perils of plastic pollution and its effect on our bodies, scientist interviews, digital signage for the Footprint Center and Real Mallorca Stadium, TV commercial, branded and social content. We even co-executive produced a hit song that brought in 2.5M views in 2 weeks, after a social campaign spearheaded by Karla Ortiz .

I had previously brought in billions of media impressions for brands like Hot Pockets with Snoop and Butterfinger with Seth Green. Products I wouldn't feed my own kids. After working with Susan on all of the projects we created together. I realized one of my purposes in life, is to educate and empower consumers, so they can make wiser purchases with their buying power. If we can educate consumers to say 'no Coke, I'm not going to buy anymore of your plastic bottles. I want either glass or aluminum." You better believe Coke change their plastic pollution practices.
I now have a duty to my kids and future generations to be involved in projects or initiatives that will make a difference. I'm now inviting the universe to send me projects, people and problems that I can help with narrative story telling. I crave purpose. I crave being of service to humanity in some shape, form or fashion. The more I focus on things outside of myself, the smaller my problems and challenges seem to get.
We may be going to hell in a hand basket in many ways, but at the same time, every effort to shift from darkness to light, is worth the effort. I am a change agent and I'm proud of who i've become.
