Why I Started an Impact-driven company
Happy Friday!
I intended to share this update a week earlier, but unfortunately, I fell ill. My calendar was packed with plans, meetings, and activities that I had to delay. My apologies to those whose calls were canceled last-minute. It's a stark reminder that despite our intentions, life has its own course.
This experience is a valuable lesson and a reminder that while we can't control everything, it's essential to have contingency plans. Perhaps, that's a discussion for another post.
The purpose of this post is to delve into my reasons for founding a new company. It's a venture that pushes me out of my comfort zone and area of expertise, driven by a mission to address global issues that could significantly affect many lives.
Before diving in, let me provide some context about the launch of SatYield Currently, me and my co-founders haven't secured any funding. Those familiar with my approach know I prefer to bootstrap initially. When I moved to the USA eight years ago, the phrase "drink your own champagne" resonated with me. It's challenging to market a product without having thoroughly tested it yourself, and even more so to attract investment for something that hasn't demonstrated real-world value.
Looking ahead to 2024, we're at the MVP phase, engaging with hundreds of individuals and companies, and gaining considerable interest. We've pinpointed several substantial challenges to tackle, but our focus is narrowed to one for now, with details to be unveiled soon.
As we venture into the uncertain future, we might claim to foresee some aspects of it. Expect to witness numerous changes as we evolve, which is inherent to a dynamic startup. These shifts are to be anticipated and prepared for. However, amidst the flux, we must stay true to our mission—it's the guiding star leading us toward the ultimate purpose that sparked this journey.

Ok, Let's dive in: Why have I embarked on creating an impact-driven startup?
My journey in the professional realm truly began with my initial role as a webmaster at a startup in 1997. Not long after, I found myself immersed in the world of server rooms and IT racks. By the year 2000, I was overseeing IT and data center operations around the clock. Subsequently, I co-founded Ayehu (now Resolve.io ), an IT Process Automation enterprise, which we successfully sold in 2021 (an Insight company). I remained onboard for an additional term. Reflecting on my career trajectory, it has been nothing short of successful, intriguing, challenging, and rewarding. But then comes the pivotal question: What's next?
During the Covid, my interest in documentaries about nature, climate, food, sustainability, and more grew exponentially. I dove deeper into understanding the challenges and potential solutions within these areas. Agriculture caught my attention—a field that often overlooked.
Given the pressing needs due to climate change and sustainability, I realized there was significant work to be done. I saw an opportunity to transfer technological advancements from the tech sector to an industry that has already undergone three major revolutions. Now, with the advent of cutting-edge technologies, including AI, we have the potential to spearhead a fourth revolution. you can already see a glimpse of some of the innovative tech we develop at www.satyield.com
I hope this sheds light on my motivations. If my journey resonates with you or sparks inspiration, feel free to leave a comment. I'm open to discussions.
More updates are on the horizon, so stay tuned.
Meanwhile, take great care of yourself!
Cheers.
