Why I smoke weed...

I recognize this might not be the best venue for a weed article, but hear me out before you judge me ;)
Why I smoke weed? Punchline:? Because Life is too short. —- From the moment I wake up, I’m executing a plan.?A plan I believe is strategically correct (from the confidence in this process). And while executing, learning new things each day. Things that should be taken into account in the plan, but stored away for the Weed Period of the day so not as to interrupt the pace of execution. However, I find transitioning from execution mode to Visionary/Strategic mode isn’t a timely comedown (especially at the desired intensity of execution). So, I light up. Just one hit of a one hitter. And I immediately come to neutral (between doing and thinking). It helps me be in the present especially when my family is around (sure, I miss the mark sometimes!). Afterwards I take a few more hits from the one-hitter and sink deep into thought worm holes (like this one). Sometimes the genius of a movie spawns a wormhole thought. Other times it’s playing cards and noticing reality. That reality which is missed while “stay on target”executing the plan. This deep thinking Period is where I turn strategic. I ponder Visions of what we were, what we are, and what we possibly might become. I ask a lot of “why”.?And equally “why not” questions. Call it my version of meditation.?
And, I’m able to unlock the learnings of earlier in the day while executing yesterdays plan. ?Those new insights are synthesized with my overall understanding and either integrated or discarded. When this happens for days on end, while being committed to perfection on both sides, revolutionary thoughts take place. I spend the end of the evening, capturing all theories and learnings. Especially the newly understood but don’t quite fit the puzzle ones (knowing they will eventually come into understanding). It’s my own evolutionary thought process. The shorter the time between the evolution learning cycles, the more thorough my Visions grow and exponentially faster. And I’m keenly aware that life is short. Everybody has the same 365 days in a year. Everyone. The ones who do more, go further, change the world - all follow a similar learning process (with or without weed). I just find smoking weed at the end of the day speeds up my learning and provides more direction than not. :). But it’s hell on my figure when I get the munchies.?

It wasn’t always like this and likely won’t always be. But, its perfect for the current period in my life. I now have enough experience to know there are systems, ways of reducing friction, and organizations of higher order powers with systemic processes that are immutable. It took years to even understand the concept of these. And, I’m still hard at work learning new things every day. Gaining exponential breadth and depth.?And, I still have time on this earth to put these to good use. So I use weed to help me assemble the puzzle to keep the next day going. It will continue until my drive slows I suspect.?
Maybe then I’ll turn to scotch and see what benefit that brings!

2 年One last justification comment (no, I don't plan to take this down). I wrote this about 3 years ago (during Covid lockdown) and was reminded about it recently by a friend who is struggling with his life situation. He shared that me sending him this was helpful to him. So I decided to post it thinking I could maybe help 1 more person. For any of you who thought (think) badly or differently about me from this, that's on you (thanks to my Daughter for asking why I posted it, recently). 1. Weed is legal in many States and Countries. 2. A friend in need is a friend indeed. 3. Grow up. Stop letting social stigmas influence your unconscious bias and start thinking for yourself.
