Why will I be seeing Avengers: Infinity Wars Twice:

Every generation in every age needs a retelling of its old myths and stories in a completely new pattern and with a novel approach. This is where the origin of Comics happened and this is what Marvel Studios rather than any other studio has gotten hold of, the gist of the story as created in the comics which is helping Marvel not only rake in the moolah but also both the fans and audience for their movie franchisees who after seeing the movie step out of the theatre not with just a smile on their face and contentment in their hearts of having witnessed a truly spectacular VFX made blockbuster of a movie but also of having watched a story which they had heard since their childhood laid out in an exciting and a ‘marvel’ous manner. And the credit for this apotheosis of comic stories being turned into such a money-minting, franchise spinning as well as much awaited and watched movies at the box office goes to the script, graphics and direction done in the movies.

This is what is setting Marvel Cinematic Universe apart from every other movie studio anywhere in the world trying to attempt of creating and putting out a Super Heroes genre movie. The genuine attempt by the Marvel scriptwriters, graphic designers and directors, to first of all, being true to the nut and core of the storyline mentioned in the comics is a praiseworthy thing. This is the secret of Marvel’s success. They haven’t diverted an inch with the essence of the characters, their super powers or the entire structure of the storyline as depicted in the comics. Cause if they had done so then they would have firstly alienated the hardcore, fanatic, truly loyal and dedicated fan base of both the comics and then the movies based on it. And if this had happened then the rest of the world wouldn’t have fallen in love with characters such as Steve Rogers and his alter ego Captain America or King T’Challa and his alter ego Black Panther.

Just imagine the scenario when the whole of Hollywood and the American fans themselves aren’t thronging in multitudes to theatres to watch and celebrate these characters, their adventures in the first place then why would the rest of the world would feel to go and be a part of this imaginary world of Avengers and Wakanda? If the land of the origin of these characters and its people isn’t wholeheartedly accepting and widely embracing these characters as their own they would anyone feel the need to do so anyway? Because, unlike Superman and Batman, the characters that Marvel Cinematic Universe is bringing to life aren’t recognized so easily on a global scale.

I mean how many knew and was even aware of Captain America and his story or how vibranium juiced everything in Wakanda before these movies happened on such a big scale? Sure, many Americans and Europeans had an inkling of these ‘wow’ characters and their persona but not the rest of the world. Ironically, many Africans weren’t aware of Black Panther’s origin story which is based in their own continent Africa.

But then hats off to the zeal, zing and zest put in by Team Marvel for not only envisioning all these characters on the silver screen but also putting them up in the most affectionate, endearing manner so much so that the release of Black Panther movie became a cultural phenomenon, a paradigm shift in how African Americans are now viewed in Hollywood. Thanks to Kevin Feige and his faith and belief in pursuing these stories written in the 20th Century but ever so relevant even in the 21st. Plus, the talent that Marvel Studios hired is nothing short of being labeled as ‘Stupendous’.

I mean right from the actors to directors and everyone in between are of tremendous high quality, people who excel amazingly at their craft and most importantly are ready to play as a Team together and not go alone. For example, just look at Robert Downing Jr. his whole style exudes the personality of Tony Stark not just on screen but also in real life. People are left gobsmacked as to how much Robert Downing Jr. emanates and oozes with the spirit of Tony Stark in his interviews, in his tete-a-tete with fans and journalists alike. Then there’s the awesome gathering of Directors right from Jon Favreau of Iron Man fame to Joss Whedon of the first Avengers to James Gunn of the Guardians of the Galaxy to Taika Waititi of Thor Ragnarok to Ryan Coogler of Black Panther and finally to Anthony and Joe Russo, the brothers duo of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War and now Avengers: Infinity Wars.

The ensemble of such hugely talented people under one umbrella of Marvel Studios is pretty breathtaking and completely overwhelming in its imagination and a scope. To put in a word it’s a ‘Coup’ on the movie industry worldwide since they have gathered and nurtured talent from every country and nation with a decent film making background. And this is the wholesome reason for the runaway success of every movie that comes out of the Marvel assembly line.

All these actors and directors have truly changed the course of Comic movies but staying put to the quintessential nature of the characters and the story mentioned in the comics. It’s good that they still have Stan Lee who blesses them with his special appearances, his cameos in every film but had there been Jack Kirby, Joe Simon, Larry Lieber, Steve Ditko, Don Heck, Paul Jenkins, Jae Lee, Don Rico, Roy Thomas and George Perez alive today, they all would have felt so much happy and relieved to see their work presented in its real, true and authentic manner.

Of course, minor changes like costume and colors have happened but there’s no re-writing of the original work. And lastly, Marvel Studios is doing one more good thing by bringing these comics to life on the cinema screen in a such a fashionable and highly expensive manner due to which kids are getting attracted to the theatre and are able to observe these old, standing the test of time stories and feel highly motivated and inspired by tales of the Super Heroes.

Hence the loud cheers, claps, shouts, yells, the hooting and the rooting the moment every single Super Hero character appeared on the IMAX screen by innumerable fans sitting in their seats inside the cinema hall. These movies and particularly Avengers: Infinity Wars has been successful in uniting the whole of the audience in a manner no other movie has ever done. And the knowledge these completely dedicated and devoted Marvel buffs have of their characters and the storyline is completely awe-inspiring and mesmerizing.

Never in the history of movie making has there been such a rage and raucous, such hype and hoopla, such expectations and aspirations from a movie as there had been from Avengers: Infinity Wars and the great thing is that it lived up to the build in its every scene and twist, in its every stunt and surprise.

So, do read comics for the feel of the page and the smell of the book but if you are a true, loyal and hardcore comic book aficionado, a real reader then you won’t miss out on watching the enactment of these iconic and legendary characters displayed on the movie screen particularly with the real showcase running to packed houses known as Avengers: Infinity Wars.

Go watch it. It’s a real treat!
