Why I Ride--Pan Mass Challenge 2016

For more than a decade my family has supported Dana Farber's Jimmy Fund via the Pan Mass Challenge and now it's my turn to make an impact. Regardless of circumstance, everyone has been affected in their own right by the widespread evils of cancer and there's no better time than the present to fight back. The PMC is the perfect medium to lead the charge in fundraising for cancer research as the event is much more than an athletic endeavor--it is a community of healthy and sick alike supporting a valiant cause. The combination of physical exertion, mental endurance and positive vibes is symbolic of what it takes to beat cancer. PMC's incredible outpouring of love and support for those who have lost friends and family and those who are currently fighting defines the essence of what it means to give back to those in need.

I am riding the one-day route for my modest second year from Wellesley to Bourne hoping that I can withstand a hot day on an extremely uncomfortable saddle to again keep up with my father--veteran of 12 FULL rides (and an additional 1-day with me) and am hoping to hit my fundraising goal of $3,700. I am asking anyone and everyone to support the best cause out there; this is an extremely emotional day for all and this universal outpouring of love--a 6000-fold sense of solidarity--is incredibly powerful. I will be indebted to you for any contribution whatsoever. In considering a donation, remember that 100% of of your funds will go directly to the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's indefatigable mission to find a cure. Thanks in advance for helping to support me, and more importantly, the fight against cancer!
