Why I Retired Early, Part 5 (full disclosure)

Why I Retired Early, Part 5 (full disclosure)

Being in-love with your work is fundamental to a happy existence in this capitalistic environment.? Without being in-love with “work,” it’s easy to fall prey to the need to simply “make ends meet.”? We are bombarded with information on how to work and save for retirement; at the same time, it’s evident that retirement is a lofty goal for many.? The proof is outside right now.? It’s so quiet during the typical workday; quiet on the trails; quiet at the grocery store; quiet at the Friday night spots; quiet on the streets in general.? When the realization that I could not work another three years to gain full retirement became evident, I took the exit.? I knew that being behind a desk, with a big title, would continue to destroy my health. The notion of full retirement would only result in a torn body, not able to enjoy any retirement in three years. ?It’s taken me almost a year to recuperate and regain a healthy existence.? My signs of declining health??

·?????? Elevated blood pressure,

·?????? Excruciating lower back pain,

·?????? Dull aches in the core of my body,

·?????? Sleepiness during work hours,

·?????? Random brain fog,

·?????? Boredom,

·?????? Anxiety that would stop me in my tracks,

·?????? Urgent sense of not living up to potential,

·?????? Lack of desire to continue in current work,

·?????? Restless nights and a diminished quality of life professionally and personally?

These experiences had nothing to do with my work environment, per se, where I willingly signed up but had EVERYTHING to do with my own decision to stay in a position that I knew would further detract from my purpose, while simultaneously destroying a healthy existence.? As the saying goes, “Your health is your wealth.”? And what’s the purpose of reaching full retirement with a modicum of health?? My path was no longer God’s path, and I knew it in my soul.? Fast forward almost a year later, and I’m better than I’ve been in the last 15 years, due to daily exercise, better eating habits, time in nature, being stress-free, and meditation time.? Along with that have come increased mental sharpness, heightened spiritual awareness, and NONE of the aforementioned ailments exist.?

Although I praise my mom for directing me in my career path where there have been PLENTY of successes, the main thing that I appreciate is the ability to retire early and have time for God’s purpose.? “Working” while being unaligned with God’s purpose was taking its toll, and you’re truly fortunate if you’re aligned.?

Retirement doesn’t mean sitting down and rocking in a chair either!? Retirement for me means the opportunity to discern my purpose, without the distractions.? So once again, I thank my mom, because I now know she encouraged me to get in, but if she was still here, she’d encourage me to get out…early.? The vision for my new endeavor, Accuratics, was spawned many years ago, with a faint whisper in my ear.? Had I Listened then, my trajectory would be different.? I’m just elated I’ve heeded the call now.? There’s still plenty of work to be done, according to His timeline, hopefully on earth ??.

THANK YOU for guiding me God and allowing me to Listen and act accordingly.

(that’s all for now…)
