Why I Really Hope You Take The Stairs

I just got back from a pretty epic trip to France. I got to visit my old stomping grounds in Paris where I lived and studied for a year in college. I also got to experience the rural Auros, a rustic village in the French countryside located about 45 minutes from Bordeaux.?

I’ll be holding a Transformational Leadership Retreat & French Immersion Experience in Auros, France from April 25-30, 2023, but more on that later.?

It inspired me to think of you, a leader with a track record of success who’s ready to create your next level of personal & professional success.?

You see, as somebody who’s coached thousands of clients who want more in their lives, I get asked all the time about the “secret to success” in turning dreams into reality.?

So many people spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to learn how to make it easy to be more successful.?

The secret is not much of a secret at all.?

The “secret” is that you must do the work.?

The secret is that you must take the stairs.?

One stair at a time. One step at a time.?

Identify what it is you want.

Why do you want it?

What brings you deep joy and fulfillment?

Build and nurture relationships.?

Tell people what you’re creating.?

LOOK WITHIN. DO THE INNER WORK.

Ask for help.?

Share with everyone what you want and why you want it.?

Create a small action step toward it and follow through.?

Get feedback.?

Learn.

Adjust.?

Keep going.?

Are there ways of doing things more efficiently and productively?

Absolutely.?

But your biggest problem is not about doing; it's about being.

It's about becoming and being somebody who does the deep inner work to create deeper joy and fulfillment in all areas of your life.

Take the time to think about who you want to be and how you show up in the world.

As seen in the picture, the majority of people will choose the escalator, the perceived easier path. The majority of people will not do the deeper inner work to create a life that will bring them deeper joy and fulfillment.

The funny thing is, I made it to the top faster than most of the escalator goers.?

The same can be true for you.?

If you choose the stairs more often than the escalator, if you do the inner work, put?yourself out there daily, let people know what you’re creating and why, and take?one action at a time, you’ll be able to experience the “top of the stairs” experience that most people will never experience:?

Having the courage to do what most others won’t, so you can live a life most others can’t.?
