Why I quit my multiple 6 figure $$ job…
Fraser Cameron
I activate men who’ve ‘made it’...but still feel the void | We burn the rules, unlock their genius, and build a life they wouldn’t trade for anything
11 years ago I walked away from the easy life.?From the comfort, safety and security I’d worked so hard to build?
The so called “dream”.
Great house in the suburbs, corner office job with status, nice cars, vacations, beautiful family.
I had EVERYTHING.?
So why did I walk away from all of that ???
Simple
It wasn’t what I wanted. It wasn’t me doing what I was born to do. It didn’t feel right.?
This was emphasised when I achieved this life because there was a lingering empty feeling.
?
A sense of lack. Like there was more out there for me.?
?
You see this life ?? came at a cost.?
Long hours. Boring meetings. Hitting rinse and repeat each day, and each week.?It was like I was sleep walking through life. Going through the motions.?
The truth is I was living someone else’s life AND building someone else's wealth.
I had everything, but I didn't have it all - my all. The things that make me feel alive. I was busy, mostly unhappy, my work paid extremely well but didn't give me that buzz, I wasn't investing time into my relationships or me, and it didnt feel like I had much choice.
And I couldn't moan about it because it was what so many men covet. The house, cars, job...
?
But the truth is, I’d wanted to start my own thing for a while. I had some ideas around what I'd do, but no real clarity. And no one walks away from easy money to chase something impossible…
?
It may have been easy, but it was sucking the life out of me. I wasn’t who I wanted to be - the carefree, happy, focused, free me. The me that did it my way because, well because I could. And wanted to.?
?
I kept talking about what I was going to do yet I kept taking the easy money.? Settling for the easy life...
?
Until my son threw a spanner in the works. He asked why I was always grumpy. OUCH. Not only was it affecting me, but now it was impacting those I loved.?
?
It was time to be strong. To be the person, to be the man, I wanted to be.?The man I was born to be.
?
So I quit.

I quit the easy life so I could build MY LIFE - the one I wouldn't trade for anything. So I could discover who I was, who I wanted to be.
?
So I could do it my way.? WITHOUT unnecessary sacrifice and suffering.
?
I put my ego to the side, got some help, endured some short term pain, took some pretty big risks AND tapped into my conviction, courage and commitment.?
?
It wasn’t easy. Far from it. Almost everyone thought I was mad.?
?
But it was the best thing (aside from marrying my wife and having two awesome kids), the BEST thing I’ve done.?
?
Because I found me. I ditched the suits, started wearing t-shirts, shorts and flip-flops everyday. I slowed down and built what I wanted.?
?
We live where we want, we travel the world exploring, we educate the kids ourselves, we have daily fun
?
And we have more money than we can spend.
?
This is MY way.?
?
Sure, it’s not for everyone. Not everyone wants to be an entrepreneur. Not everyone wants to risk their safety and security
?
But for those that do want that. That do want to have it all…
?
