Why I Paid $129.98 for Twitter and IG "Blue Checks"

Why I Paid $129.98 for Twitter and IG "Blue Checks"

Just yesterday, I signed up for two paid-access levels on social media:?

Twitter Blue: $114.99 / year

Meta Verified (for Instagram): $14.99 / month

Why?

1) Exposure. I am betting on each of these paid levels exposing my posts to more people. And since my stuff is already good, more exposure will only help me and generate more business opportunities.?

2) Share more material. With Twitter in particular, now I can post long videos and full articles in my tweets. This will bring more people from Twitter into my world.?

3) Expense it. Both memberships can be written off as business expenses, as I use social media to market and promote my business. This is an investment, not a cost.?

4) Account protection. My Twitter got hacked last year. For a time, it seemed I wouldn't be able to get it back. I did, but it made me think about those of you whose entire business – and access to your customers – is via a social media account. If you lose that account, you lose your business. With a paid-access account, you have a MUCH better chance of being protected from intruders.?

5) It’s a test. If these paid-access memberships don't drive attention, engagement, and ultimately, revenue – then I’ll just cancel and use them on the “regular” account level.

Here’s the big point: You need a framework for making decisions in your business about what to do and what not to do. Where to invest and where not to invest. And these decisions should happen fast.?

It should be applicable to decisions at $15 and at $15,000.?

And you should use it every time.?
