Why I Will Never Regret Getting Divorced

Why I Will Never Regret Getting Divorced

I know firsthand how divorce can put someone back at square one. Divorce is not only hard emotionally, but it is debilitating to one’s finances; I KNOW THIS, and I HAVE NO KIDS to add!

I put a plan together for a young man where at the surface might look like it may not be possible to own a home at all for him, but upon further digging, now it is clear that he just needed a plan to get there!

Young guy, divorced, living life, with no kids, no spousal support to the ex, and it still looks like he can’t get ahead at all.

I have a plan that will get him out of the little debt he is in (I say little, because he is actually not in bad shape in terms of debts) and save for his down payment for his next house.

It will take a little longer, assuming he does not find a partner to do this with, but that’s ok! He can do it!

Less than 4 years into the future, he will be CONSUMER DEBT-FREE. He will be on his way to save for his down payment, and then be able to afford his own place about 5 years after that.

It sounds like a long time from now, i.e. 9 years from now, to be able to buy your own place, but, without a plan, without the reality of what is happening now without a plan, the prospect of owning his own place is nowhere in sight.

NOW HE HAS SOMETHING TO STRIVE FOR

NOW HE SEES AN ACTUAL RESULT FROM ANY EFFORT TO SAVE

NOW HE HAS HOPE

I also forecasted a budget to indicate he can afford the house, the utilities, and the taxes that accompany HOMEOWNERSHIP.

This my friends, is what we call a PLAN!!!

Not to mention, taking a look at how I can make his RSPs work harder for him, I was able to determine, if we tweaked a couple things with his existing RSPS, we can grow his investments by $150000 MORE in retirement at 65!!!!

I was absolutely elated that he reached out to me! I am so honored to be a part of his future, because now he has me as his advocate to reach his financial goals!
