Why I Never Changed (and Why It’s Time You Stop Chasing Trends)

Let me ask you something. If I entered you into a 2027 bodybuilding competition, when would you start training?

If your answer is immediately, you’re already ahead of the curve. But most people? They’re late. They’re always chasing the next trend, running toward the light, hoping to catch up. What they don’t realize is that by the time they see the light, it’s already too late.

What I’ve Been Up To

For the last two years, I’ve been deep in the trenches, focusing on one thing: story-driven, experience-driven content. Not trends. Not the flavor-of-the-month advice every guru on the internet seems to be dishing out. Just pure, unfiltered storytelling.

And let me tell you—it hasn’t been easy. While everyone was jumping from one shiny object to the next, I had to fight through the chaos and stick to my guns. Sure, my formats evolved—that’s what creativity demands—but I never changed who I am.

Fast forward to today, and I see a sea of entrepreneurs in a panic. They don’t know where to go, what to do, or how to stand out. Some are scrambling to catch up, but here’s the hard truth: for most of them, the race is already over.

The Miss Olympia Moment

I was explaining this to my wife just this morning. She told me, “Yeah, but babe, that wasn’t the style two years ago.” And she’s right. But here’s what I told her:

Imagine I entered you into the 2027 Miss Olympia bodybuilding competition. When would you start training?

She said, “Immediately. Some of these competitions require 12–18 months to train for.”

And that’s the point. By the time something becomes a trend, the people who succeed at it are the ones who were doing it before it was cool.

For example, I had a thick beard before every guy decided they wanted one. I stuck to story-driven content before every platform started hard-pushing creators who leaned into storytelling.

Are you late to the game? Maybe not. Will you see results if you start now? Sure, but they’ll be short-lived—a quick dopamine hit before the numbers drop again.

But the ones who stayed the course, who never veered off the path—they’re the ones who keep winning the lottery over and over.

What This Means for You

I’m not here to preach. I’m not going to tell you what to do or not to do. I just want to talk to you, like I’m journaling out loud.

This mindset is what helped me refine my work—not just as a filmmaker, but as a storyteller on YouTube. Instead of chasing algorithms, I went back to the basics. No fluff, no gimmicks, just pure storytelling.

This approach led to my first video in this new chapter: https://youtu.be/Eypx3LRiotE?si=xYkPx-lUPjf8QZMt
